Haha - I remember that line well!

Classic Lou always downplaying how good his team is and the absurdity of him being concerned about losing his slow 7 foot center on that team (he would have been a complete fish out of water with the pace of play of that team).

Ironically, Jens may have made a difference in the final four against Michigan down low given the size differential and how that game played out - although I've never actually thought that thought until just now.

Seriously, I thought that right away when Hamilton and Battle were hurting. We were already at a significant size disavantagage and with those two ailing, we were like a Jr High School team. Jens absolutely would have helped us )at least in that game).

Good thing we had old Eat N Sleep there.

in that game maybe so but had he stayed we more then likely wouldn't have been in that game. I remember the other players saying a few year after , that the best thing that happened for them , was Jens leaving so they could play fast. Jens was addition by subtraction

worst result from a highly thought of recruit?

no debate: Alex Legion transfer from Kentucky

No doubt. The legends being spun about Legion's prowess were bordering on something out of a national epic. I remember when he first stepped on the court and thinking "does this guy even pass?" Attempted a 3 nearly every time he received the ball, no matter where or how well he was guarded.

-I'm predicting Smith commits here by Monday at the latest.

-Not sure Dr. DJ has a source or not but i do find it interesting that some recruits like Ayo and Mark Smith follow him.

I kind of like this stealthy recruiting. We've all had conjecture, but it wasn't until now that there some reports of us going after Bragg.

Bruninga/Badocchi, Smith/CM, Bragg will make heck of a class. The last spot can be used for a grad transfer and left for Ayo/TF

Pass on Bruninga otherwise you're spot on.

Remind me, would Moore be eligible right away or have to sit a year? Not sure cause he said he wanted to be closer to his father who had a medical history. But then again, it's not like Kansas is close whatsoever.

He'd have to sit. Medical hardship waiver isn't a thing anymore

Get your game face on coach. Get Orange Krush and Marching Illini in State Farm with the lights off with Kendall Gill at center court holding jersey #13 in the spotlite. Hit the lights with Orange Krush going nuts and the band striking it up.

That slot needs a name attached to it though. The Khalid Lewis of bigs won't help us all that much, we'd be better off with a freshman.

Agreed. If we can get an impact grad transfer that increases the odds of an NCAA bid then go for it. If it is a minimal impact we are better off with a freshman and strengthening the future of the program.
