If JT wants to come to Illinois great. If he goes elsewhere it's to bad he's a good player at a position of need. And no fan should bash him online. Makes us all look bad. But I don't get his desire to reaffirm yesterday and de commit today. I would have had zero issue with his decision to request out today if he didn't put out what he did yesterday.

Obviously love the upside of a 6'11" center on my team with quick feet, however I think believe he averaged like 15pts a game this year. I know he is a top-100 player and is solid but that average is rather weak if you ask me. Even if he is double teamed all throughout high school, at 6'11" buckets just fall into your lap. I also watched him play twice this season and was unimpressed with his motor and Bball IQ. Low average could be a result of being in foul trouble most games too...

Again would love to have him in the O&B but the roller coaster ride of him wanting attention probably doesn't fit very well with Underwood (from the Frank Martin tree of if you don't like it get out) and personally makes it sting less.

I think I saw somewhere that All American Kevin Knox is going to visit Columbia this weekend as well. These Porter's I tell you.

Funny thing is with Porter, possibly Jontay reclassing and if Know signs, where does Tilmon fit in? He is not an athletic run the court guy...Porter is 6'10, Knox is what 6'8 and Jontay Porter I believe is close to that...ALL are athletic...where does Tilmon fall into?

I really think this kid might be drinking the Tilmon Roofie that's being offered up by many people...HE is NOT a 5 star player....ranked early and a BIG that gets you a 5 star with limited talent pool to rank against (numbers that is)

Here is the most telling part of these events IMHO. BU's style and system are flat out. Our/his players will have motors. With backup generators. Or they won't sniff the floor outside of practice.

Unless I'm miscalculating we now have 3 open schollies. What do we do? We need bigs now for sure. I can't see us holding onto them. 5th year, JUCO? We've been down the 5th year thing for so long I don't know if I can take that again. It is a band-aid fix for a bullet hole.
I am just flabbergasted at the developments. We are sure on a roller coaster ride.

Well our options for immediate help at the 5 will be from either a true freshman or a 5th year transfer so it's safe to say we'll see at least one of those come to fruition.

Kind of funny, Piper was just on the radio and said the mom still wants Illinois.

Kiir would be excellent, but sounds like an LSU lean. Believe Clifton Moore requested release from IU,...but don't know if he would be feasible or a fit.

Just curious, who was the last basketball player from ESL that came to Illinois? I know we have some football players, but don't remember the last basketball player.

"IG" - "Instagram", in this case Tilmon's instragram, and telling a kid to F-Off, among others, is wrong, even for the younger crowd on this board (I hope no one, of any age, would post that in response to Tilmon's decision).

BTW, saw on the home page TFraizer tweet post in response to the Tilmon request; everyone should look at it. This kid only gets better and better.

Would you mind posting TF's tweet here? I can't find it on the Twitter machine.

Tried to warn folks about the potential nut-punch scenario. Didn't think it would actually happen though. One more crappy Wednesday for the memory banks. Bleh.

While we should feel better in the long run compared to Miznoz, I have a feeling that this team will be able to take care of business against us this coming December. That will not be a fun feeling. I know that's not the big picture, but still.

Meanwhile, of course Miznoz will fall well short next march, and JT will declare for the draft and probably will be selected at the beginning of the 2nd round, following our old friend Clifford's footsteps.

You can't accomplish big things worrying about the small things (and small people). In my life, people that have been talented but flaky are not good for organizations and don't lead to success.

So if the kid is still playing games or is torn at this point, it is best we just part. BU strikes me as a person who will not entertain games. As an alumnus I love this University and this school is much bigger than the Eddy Currys and Cliff Alexanders of the world. Time to look for two talented big men.

Prediction: Tilmon won't play up to his top 25 hype, and risks even further detriment if he commits to no-coaching by Zo. Indifferent at this point to whatever happens to him, but only wish the worst for Zo during his time at Mizzou. Good riddance and hope to see the NCAA finally put his slime out to pasture once he wears through the welcome at Mizzou.

Consider my voice 2 octaves higher. I have to apologize to HC and JFG as I thought after yesterdays retweet that we were clear of all BS. This really sucks

Has anyone thought he asked out because like people thought way way back, when he left LALU he wont make the grades to get in so needs to find a place he can

No. If he qualifies under NCAA rules, he would have made it here. This is not what is happening here.
