Off topic question: Why do I see EJ Liddel's name mentioned on here so much more than Francis Okoro's?

Okoro looks to be the much bigger and better player at this point, is it that EJ has expressed more interest in the Illini?

EJ is perceived as more attainable. He's a downstate kid who we've been in on early, and seems pretty high on us at this stage in the recruitment. The Okoro recruitment will be tough to win. He'll have no shortage of big name suitors.

Liddell did make a couple all-state teams ahead of Okoro. Liddell also dominated in his last matchup with Tilmon in a Belleville West win. Okoro is bigger and more athletic, but definitely not a better basketball player than Liddell at this point.

Does EJ project to be a 3 or 4 at the next level?

He's only 6'7, so if he doesn't grow I think he will have to try and be a 3. But could be similar to Leron and start at a 4 and develop skill sets to be a 3 by his junior season.

If he grows to be 6'9 or bigger, that's a different story.

We have to get used to the new system in terms of projecting players. Could definitely be a 4 in BU's system.

He's both in college. He'll need to develop his ball handling more for the 3, but he does have the ability to get in the lane. He's 6'7" with very long arms and I saw him rebound out of his space over Tilmon and block a Tilmon two handed dunk. He can score from all 3 phases of the floor and was really hitting his midrange jumper. He is efficient and doesn't have a lot wasted motion...when he catches he's attacking, ready to shoot, or pass. He's ahead of the game as a sophomore, but obviously he needs to keep working.

It's been about 6 hours since the coach was named. Has Ayo committed?

After the ball is entered no difference 1-4 in the half court flow. Tell all the bigs they're a 1/2 or a 2/3 if it gets them here.

From the research I have done on Coach Underwood's offense (1 youtube video and maybe 2 OSU games last year) I see Black starting at the 5. That is assuming we do not get a grad transfer/incoming freshman to fill that role. I don't really care about measurements. He defends and rebounds a lot better than Finke. Black's newly acquired ability to stretch the floor and shoot can only benefit him in this offense.

Brady Ernst, a 6-8 power forward from Indian Hills CC re-opened his recruitment at around 6pm tonight. In this season at IHCC he averaged 9.4/6.5/0.4 on .637/.000/.726 shooting. The 6’10”, 230-pound post would have had three years of eligibility remaining when he got to Xavier, but now will take that elsewhere.

I guess his growth plates are still open. He grew 2" in one paragraph!:D

Wouldn't mind class of Frazier, Williams, Smith, Bodacchis/Wooten, Ernst, Bruninga

I could see that if C Johnson was substituted for Bruninga.

Good point. How do you see Leron? DJ if he stays?

Leron is pretty much set at the high post, but needs to add the ability to score off the dribble from there for max effectiveness. DJ will be capable of playing all 5 spots. I think he could be hell in the high post. But a long, athletic, bouncy guy cutting through the defense or turning the corner on a handoff with an open lane is pretty sweet to think about too.
