Finke made first team EYBL this past weekend. Some pretty good company on that squad. I Think Finke can be a star, 2nd best player in the state. One of the top HS shooters in the nation.

Hard to believe (the other) Mark Smith's visits were to Illinois, Nevada-Reno, Missouri, Bradley, and Drake. Today he would be a high-major recruit with a ton of Power 5 offers.

For better or worse, the Eddie Johnson / Mark Smith years planted the seeds of my lifelong Illinois addiction.

Thanks man! I forgot to check Jim. Man he does so much for local kids in the area getting them exposure. He was at almost all of my son's football games and Collin made the highlights several times on some scoop and scores and picks. He was a corner/safety who could run and jump at 6'3. Unfortunately coach did like playing guys 2 ways so he didn't put him as wide out in our offense often....if he had we would have been unstoppable because we had a pretty pass catching tight end and two backs who were quick and could catch. They couldn't have covered everyone.

anyway, Jim Matson is an alum who loves our university and does great work in the Peoria area getting young athletes exposure. Good guy too

Bradley was a pretty darn good program back in those days. Miles ahead of today.

That's contradicted on the Sparty board by a poster who said the coaches had not heard either way. That post was 10:14 am today. Others on their board seem to think he is connected to the coaching staff.
