That he's worth as much as both of those guys combined, or getting him would lead to getting the other two?

Both are...incorrect.

Second one, and thanks for pulling out your crystal ball, but I'll stick with my vision of the future.

SU coincidentally has an assistant Allen Griffin, who is presumably deeply biased in favor of Alan/Allan/Allen Griffins

Sounds like a law firm ;)

I wouldn't be surprised. Griffin's decision seemed pretty rushed and now there's even less of an opportunity for playing time to satisfy every wing. I like the competition for playing time though but I see why Illinois could seem less attractive now with Jones committing. I'm still not sure how I feel about Griffin, but I would never want to turn down a shooter with that size. Jones is a much better athlete though.

Come on man, really? What kind of offense do we run now? Or are you trolling?

What kind of offense do we run now?

There were times this season that I really wondered. Pass the ball around till 4 seconds left on the shot clock, then throw something up.
Anyway, the question becomes, to what extent will the incoming freshmen learn and execute BU's system as opposed to the roster that he inherited? So many times I saw posts saying they're still learning a new system. So we should be hesitant to anoint the new ones to sainthood at this time.

How about the famous one: Dewey Cheatum & Howe

We're likely going to have 3 guards with Kipper at the 4 sometimes unless we get a 5th year post. Frazier and Ayo are two of them, and then it's a competition for the 3rd guard spot between Williams, Jones, Griffin, and Jordan. Some of them could shift around a bit but if we get Felix then those spots become even more defined. If we get a 5th year post, that's going to give Kipper more time at the 3 too making it more difficult to get playing time on the wing. This is trolling only if you believe that we're going to truly play all of Williams, Jones, Griffin, and Jordan.

Unless we get Ramey or Feliz, I think you'll see DaMonte as a 3rd pg/sg to help spell Ayo and Trent if need be, as well as playing the 3rd guard/wing spot as well. We'll have a lot of flexibility/options with all those guys for 3 spots, sometimes 4 if we go smaller.

I think you will see Williams playing some wing along with Jones.
Pretty sure we get either Ramey or Feliz.

Ramey/Ayo/Frazier would sure stir memories of Deron/Dee/Luther... just sayin'. :noidea:
Ramey better get in and commit while he can. This week is the time to do it. Feliz is coming in this weekend. It is going to be one or the other.

As heavy spring HS recruiting hasn't been a frequent Illini occurrence in the past, I have a question: is everyone going to sign on the 11th? Or do these sorts of recruitments tend to drag on beyond then?

So far, with the exception of THT I think, we haven’t heard so much crazy puffery about getting players and then finishing second. I’m really hoping that the frequency with which that occurred was a Groce phenomenon that came to an end with Underwood, and the staff and those surrounding the staff will no longer pump out rumors about getting people unless it’s a done deal- not subject to fluid recruiting. Maybe I’m alone, but the false information, false confidence and nutpunches are really not an enjoyable part of following recruiting news. Much rather sit in relative silence - knowing only about real news, e.g. coaches visits, official visits, offers, etc. - until there’s good information about a commitment.

Is there any source besides Loren Tate reporting a Ramey visit?

I think staff has been messin with Tate on this one. Nobody else is reporting it. It would be good PR to say Ramey was in just before Feliz commits this weekend.

With Jones committing a week ahead of his planned commitment date, I think it's pretty clear that it's all hands on deck (including Ayo, TJ, AG, GB, and SK) to get Ramey on to campus and to commit. Griffin has been touting a visit this weekend, maybe Griffin knows Ramey might also come on over for the weekend. It's an extra selling point for Ramey to know that he'll have some superior scorers and athletic bigs that he'll be playing with...
I think this is a great point and a great plan. Griffin may want to get down there before Saturday. I have seen Ramey coming in on Thursday for an unofficial and Feliz coming in on Friday for an official.

I think Martin would be an excellent stop gap between Ebo and the new bigs. Give the freshman more time to develop before being thrown in the fire. He would for sure get close to 15min. each game. Best grad transfer big on the market imo, has ties to Antigua, and leaves an extra scholly for 2019. I like.

Agreed.

For you Twitter folks, you might want to give him a follow and keep an eye on him: @PTP_Leak

As great as getting Ramey would have been, I'd still be thrilled with a Feliz commit this weekend!!:thumb:

If I'm Ayo and TF, I would say give me the true distributor guy. Feliz has already proven with his record assist numbers that he is unselfish. A shooter makes 100% of his shots following an assist.

Ramey is one of the top distributing PG's in the country for 2018, if not the best.

If Ramey doesn’t commit before this weekends visit from Feliz he will be out of luck.
If he wants to be an ILLINI the time is now.
From a class balance stand point I would be very happy with Feliz.

Can someone tweet at Tate and ask him the latest??
