I think we be sniffing the tournament. I don't mean the NIT either.:)

Pump the breaks. Please remember how long it takes bigs to develop at this level. We are going to struggle down low for at least another year probably two. Expect all these guys to be in foul trouble too.

It is going to take time.

By Griffins tweets and comments to Ked, I feel like he is a solid commit. I'm super excited about this kid !

Umm, Ramey's visiting on Thursday (according to Loren Tate, anyway).
That's huge that they are getting him on campus. However, I am skeptical that they could convince him to pull the trigger before he takes his other visits. Wherever they might be. Not sure we would take the gamble by passing on Feliz if that's the case, but I guess we will know more by this time next week.

Just let everyone celebrate the good news from T. Jones. The optimistic thoughts are rolling!

Whoa, Tate keeps breaking stories. Did he get a second wind?
Like everyone, he's just repeating what he hears. Sometimes its right. Sometimes its wrong. Sometimes things just change. (THT)

Here’s a question. I’m interested in a few of yalls opinions...

Tevian Jones > THT?

Dare I say he...fits the system better?

I'll definitely be interested to see how this plays out. Guessing THT will be ranked higher, but think Tevian and Alan could have the better careers. Pretty good rebound by the staff after what I thought was going to be bad with the THT situation.

Exciting times to be a ILLNI fan. In Brad we trust. Make ILLNI Great Again. With the kind of talent that we have coming in no reason to pump the brakes. Full speed ahead ILLNI fans.Be young and fun to watch in the fall. We're is the link that Tate said Ramey is visting Thursday?

I know that pro potenial isn't close to the only factor to consider for recruiting but we haven't had an NBA draft pick in way too long and that limits our recruiting potential. THT might end up having a better college career but Jones has more pro potential so I'd rather have guys that could help us long term even well after their time at Illinois when almost everything else known to us at this time is close to equal.

Ramey/Ayo/Frazier would sure stir memories of Deron/Dee/Luther... just sayin'. :noidea:

That backcourt, plus DMW, would be lethal. Trying very, very hard not to get my hopes up. It's not working.

I am with you. That backcourt might erase a decade plus of bad memories of Weber and Groce stalled offense and bad jumpers

Isn't that a bit of a stretch to be able to determine who would have more pro potential since they're both in their senior year of high-school?

I wasn't even considering Ramey to Illinois as even a slight possibility until I heard he planned to visit. We're closer than I ever thought we'd be.....:)

That backcourt could have the potential to lock down anybody they match up with too. Think of how many turnovers we could force with those guys plus the length that was added on the wing...

Not really. THT doesn't have a clear position which hurts his potential after college. Best bet is that neither will be NBA players but Tevian has the protypical frame and athleticism for a wing. The point is more that having these kind of athletes gives us a better chance of having a possible NBA guy compared to Morgan and Hill level athletes.

Great news on TJ and great news on CR visiting.....1-2 months ago was a lot of hand wringing and now high 5's everywhere...way to go BU and staff..

GO ILLINIIIIIIIIII !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought Tev Jones was the player we needed after getting our rim protector.

What is the optimism regarding Ramey? Especially before it was mentioned he was visiting. BU likely first national recruiter Illlinois has had. Self got good players from Texas, but was vastly Illinois. Future looking good.

Add Tevian and Griff to the mix and it's 6 guys playing the 1-3 and coming at you in waves and wearing you down.

Totally forgot about Griffin. Another very good get. Yes, we'd be flippin' loaded. Fingers crossed!

Jones hands down imo...THT will be a force, but for us Jones is what we need.:chief:

THT definitely more skilled at this point. Could be a tremendous college player. Tevian definitely more explosive with a higher ceiling. I’d have been very psyched about either. My guess is THT is an immediate contributor and has a better freshman season but if our staff develops him Tevian could become a stud - here’s hoping.

Dee, Deron, and Augie class? Or were you just talking about comparing this class with '86? This class is nice, but at this time not one of our top classes, although in hindsight let's hope it moves up. '86 moved up because Gill outplayed his ranking by a mile.

The Dee, Deron, and Augie class also included Aaron Spears and Kyle Wilson
