Not trying to comp games, but I have the feeling about Jones that I had with Malcom Hill when he was coming in. Getting something special. Let's hope Jones gets to experience a few things Malcom wasn't able to...like some nice tournament runs.

He's not Crandall Head, but he's got a low, slow release that is going to spell trouble against major conference college defense.

He needs to take and make wide open shots. And he's capable of doing that. Build from there.

He has the capability to break guys down and get to the rim. Hopefully, by doing that, he can buy himself some space to get the jump shot off. Good players can do 1 of the 2 well. Great guys can do both. Heres to Ayo being great!

But that's the thing, college teams are going to sag off and make him prove he can shoot. If he can make open shots, they'll start contesting it, which will open driving lanes for him. In the soft, early part of the season he might be able to blow by guys because of talent superiority but once he faces stiffer competition he'll need to show competence from outside in order to activate his strength.

That IS a post. I agree with most of it. Glad you typed it out instead of me. :D

As much as I don't believe Ayo has a great outside shot, I don't foresee teams just letting him shoot either. Now if he ends up being a 16% 3pt guy or something, maybe. Assuming he's near 30% I believe he'll be considered a dual-threat guy.

Ayo's shooting isn't going to be a huge factor in terms of his early contributions. Like you said, he's capable of hitting open shots, so that'll do for now. The value is everything else he brings to the table. We speed teams up, get all these steals, force all these turnovers, but struggled miiiiightily in transition. We were *really* bad in transition. If there was ever a momentum swinger in college ball, forcing turnovers and converting in transition is literally a game changer. We lacked that to an anticlimactic degree. Ayo is elite on the break and finishes at the rim so well. TJones is a perfect running mate. Kane and Ebo will be pretty good guys to trail. Get ready for "the excitement" level to take the next step:cool:

Yeah this is a good point.

AJ has a low and slow release. Ayo not too dissimilar. Will have some problems but not a skill defining trait IMO.

I agree with this sentiment but believe TJ has a higher ceiling than Malcolm. Malcolm ended up being strong and skilled but didn't have the natural length and athleticism that TJ possesses.

I am not even sure where to start this post;

I think you are a bit hard on Matic, as everyone says, unless they are 5*, bigs take longer. We have a long history of bigs that became very effective as Jrs and Srs. "Foul on Arch!"

Did this just come out? I assume that they are counting all players, rated or not?

edit: the benefit of having 6 man class does help the ranking.

+1 And his athleticism dwarfs Hill's.

Giorgi most definitely is a project. I’d argue Kane is the most ready out of the two to make an impact next season, purely out of Kane additional few inches in height and athleticism.

I stopped reading after the first paragraph....

Get well soon though my man!

Any tournament experience would be more than Malcolm. :tsk::tsk::tsk:
