Listen to Eric Bossi discuss recruiting this evening on podcast link below.

Bossy thinks that Ramey is really torn and it will come down to Mizzou and Illinois, although Texas still has an outside chance. (If he is really torn, maybe he ends up at Kansas).

Very complimentary of Cuonzo Martin and the job he did without Porter this year, believes that Mizzou and Illinois will square off again recruiting-wise for Liddell.

Discusses Mizzou and Kansas State going after Mark Smith.

Interesting part starts at about 20:15 mark.

The desert
Archbishop Molloy- where Brown plays- is actually in NYC- so that would make no difference. I’ve seen a bunch of NYS rankings- none of them have Griffin sniffing close to #1.

So, if you check out Rivals at https://nychoops.rivals.com/ you will see near the bottom that they have a player ranking and pretty definitively have Griffin above Brown. That said, if you click on the players themselves, they have Brown as a 5 star and Griffin as a 3 star, so something is off there.

Either way, I am happy to have him.

Interesting, thanks for the link. Says he knows Courtney + dad as well as anyone he's known in a while, and he doesn't know which way to call it. Described it as "genuine true confusion" on Ramey's end.

It's funny......the "insiders" here were claiming a few months back that Mizzou was definitely out, they're not a player for Ramey, Ramey's father hates Cuonzo, etc.

I never bought that for a second, and my (albeit uninformed) hunch from the get-go was that he'd wind up at Mizzou when it's all said and done. It just makes too much sense.

Good to hear that we're at least being seriously considered. I always figured we were one option among a handful, but when he started to get serious about trimming his final list, our loaded PG situation would eliminate us.

I still can't see him coming here, but that's just my gut instinct.

You can make a living on rebounding, defense, and put backs - Just ask Dennis Rodman. I'm not comparing him to Rodman, but I'm just saying there are plenty of folks with free throw deficiencies and limits to their offensive game who are playing professionally.

It’s easy to have someone who can’t score a lick when you have MJ and Scottie Pippen on your team...

Gotta feel for Ramey. I hope he doesn’t chose Mizzou, but I’ll be happy for him if it’s a genuine decision.

Also, as much crap as we talked about Cuonzo and his coaching ability - he didn’t do an awful job this year.

Check the tape:

Then compare it to this:

Then check the offer lists. Then look at the rankings.

The hype differential is appropriate.
I get that Jones is higher rated. Griffin's video showed some impressive passes. Appears to have high BB IQ and has excelled against quality players. Thrilled to have them both!

Easter Egg in Griffin's video. Only 6 fouls in 4 games. :thumb:

So how well have the top JUCO recruits made the transition to high major basketball in past years (specifically PG's)?

I just have a hard time thinking the staff would take a Feliz commitment if Ramey is still on the fence. If you slow play Feliz and miss out, oh well we still have Frazier and Ayo. Plus Damonte can play emergency PG in a pinch.

Not sure why the obsession with Griffin's rating vs Jones. They are different players and both will be valuable to us I believe. Griffin is pretty clearly a better shooter and Jones is more athletic. I could see Griffin with more tick early if he shows he can shoot at a high level. Both seem like hard workers and competitors. I'm thrilled to have them!

No matter which way we end up on Ramey/Feliz the next few days I'll still be happy.

Good question and I don't know, but I would think PG position would translate better than most if he is as skilled as he appears.

That is the kind of thinking that has gotten us where we are, left holding the bag. From the timing, it looks like Antigua knows Feliz and likes him. Underwood will lay it out for Ramey, they want him badly, but cannot wait. If he does not commit tomorrow, they will accept Feliz. Ramey and his dad are worried about Courtney having the ball, at the end of games. They saw what Trent Frazier did last year and Ayo likes the ball also. So if BU cannot convince Courtney and his dad that he will be the man, he will be gone. The number 1 PG in Junior College isn't a bad backup plan.:thumb:

Share it. Alternative games.

No, we are in the position we are now because we missed the plan A guys at positions of need. We certainly don't need a PG.

Nothing is absolute, but Ramey is the type of recruit that can take any team up another level. Not sure the same can be said for Feliz.

Kedrick Prince said tonight Tevian Jones could be the difference maker in the class. He likes the others, but really likes what TJ brings. He said Jones reminds him of Charles Mathews of Michigan, but with a much better shot.

I've heard conflicting stories about his perimeter shot. Some people say he's a sniper but I've heard some say he needs work. On Maxpreps, it says Jones shot about 38% as a senior from the perimeter after shooting 25% as a junior. Matthews on the other hand shot 42% in AAU.

- Duke has the Top 3 players overall committed and four of the Top 8. That's ridiculous.
- I didn't realized Blake Hinson is ranked #96 on Rivals.

Sounds like Duke has four of their current players declaring for the draft & of course tripper was Senior.

& B Hinson is taking a OV at Ole Miss on Friday & their new coach has been pushing hard to get him. Know his OV at IL is at the end of the month. Will we still have an open spot?

This would hold more weight if we didn't already have Frazier and Ayo. Even Griffin looks like he could play some point effectively. If we were looking at just Tate, then yeah this makes sense. But as we stand now, I say go all out for Ramey, especially if Bossi is right. They can afford to go all in here. Getting Ramey would be HUGE, not just on the court, but recruiting-wise.

Apologies if there is some missed context to this comment, but genuinely confused because we landed plan A in Donsumu.

Not sure we missed in too many areas otherwise - Landers/THT (get it) but then landed Jones/Griffin and both appear to be great prospects.

Then, due to extensive roster attrition, landed Kane and Bezhanishvili late in the process.

That said, agree Ramey takes (this) team to another level.

Darn. I was hoping JCL was going to be the last straw in this debate. I guess arguing about which guards can make a transition to PG will never end.

:D not exactly what I was arguing, but you have a really good transition game.

Jones what I have seen on tape looks like the real deal. There is not a lot of tape out there on Ramey that I have seen. Those that have seen him, how would you say he compares to Coleman-Lands?

I thought Ramey’s comparison was poor man’s Russell Westbrook(not my words)

I was talking about Groce missing plan A guys and not having a good backup plan. Which is partly why BU is left picking up all the pieces.

Trying to manage recruiting time and resources is an art form. Knowing who to go after, when to back out, and how to slow play without slow playing is pretty important. From an outsider's perspective this seems like the perfect time to swing for the fences and risk striking out. Groce did that and struck out a couple times when he couldn't afford to.

But who knows, maybe the staff is really in love with Feliz and he's the perfect fit alongside Ayo and Frazier for the three-headed monster we've been dreaming of since 2005.
