Shot 38% as a frosh, 35% as a soph, and 32% last year from three. Probably more heavily guarded last year but not impressive compared to AG’s +50%. Do like the 7.2 rebounds.

The team's point guard got hurt this year, then Goode had to handle point duties and couldn't get great looks. When he was able to play the wing with AAU Indy Heat he was on fire from 3-point even against great competition, and that will be his role with us.

Goode was a 34.8% AAU career 3 pt shooter and averaged 7.5PPG.

I love the fact that miller is a 4 star who outplayed, outworked, and wound up beating out 5 star steward for the illinois mr basketball award.. I am super stoked to see this kid play for us.. the thing that has me curious is that he says over and over he will be one and done, however he was excited about Goodes comittment, as if hes expecting to be there for year 2 and play with goode.. then goode commented back let's get to work bro.. what's your guys take ?
Mine
1. Miller expects to be there for sophomore campaign.
2. Goode is reclassifying and coming to play now.
I'm really hoping we can land cisse or etienne along with weston... the rest will fall into place...

Read my post.. #300 in this thread. They are unsure on what it will entail but I explained what I know.

Rob, you were spot on with your waiver info that shows an easing of academic standards for HS Seniors.

I haven't seen anyone mention this yet but how many times do we HATE when there is a prospect that we don't heavily recruit from the state of IL and then he goes to a rival team (seemingly always Mizz) and blows up every time that we play that team? Let's hope Goode brings that to the table when we play PU & IU. If it works against us...it ought to work for us...am I right?

This is a bit of an injustice to DJ Steward. To say DJ got outplayed and outworked undermines him as a player. We don't have to tear one player down to build up the other. I think they're both phenomenal players, and I wouldve been happy with either one, regardless of rankings.

Also, good point on the Goode take. I think he's just happy to see the program headed in the right direction. Even if Miller is one and done, he'd still be invested i the program

i think reading way too much into Miller’s reaction. As someone mentioned, he’s just giving some love to a new recruit.

I gotta disagree here. For me, I do not want to become a 1-done school. I also do not think that having a 1-done system brings that many more championships. Plus, I just don't like it. Sorry, irrational, but just opinion.
Agreed in most respects. It would be nice to grab one every now and then, however.

Yeah, if you don't make it to the NBA I don't count that as a "one and done."
Well Kofi is not projected to be drafted so we will have see if Adam Miller will be our first one and done then.

Not actually irrational.

It's been interesting to see the evolution of Kentucky. Cal started out gangbusters. Elite 8 followed by 4 out of 5 seasons with a FF appearance. In the four seasons since then he has no FFs.

I really think the luster is tarnishing on his program right now. It's become less automatic for the top 10 guys to take his offer. Perhaps it's playing time? Regardless, there was a run in those first 6 years that hasn't been matched in the last five.

I think you definitely need a core of top caliber guys staying 3 and 4 years. Adding a one and done occasionally is good, but there's no certainty they're going be blend well.

As to the how it feels personally, which I implied from your post, I agree. It's fun to see guys develop and play over time. We're probably pretty typical of college fans. You've got to imagine that Marvin Williams and Corey Magette get less love from their fanbases than Raymond Felton and Jon Scheyer, as examples.

So it will bring less championships than zero :)

I'm not saying that it should be the primary model, but it helps to at least have some examples when you're recruiting 5-star talent. Besides, I think the likelihood that Illinois becomes the next Kentucky or Duke is slim-to-none.

Yea .. I didnt intend to "tear steward down" by any means he is a phenom... reallynwhatvi meant is that miller is a bit underrated at 4 star and should be a five.. both players are very very good... just happy miller chose illini...
Trust me when I say I did not mean to sound like tearing steward down.. just from what I've seen from miller and steward miller was just a tad bit more deserving of the award.. but either player could have taken the award and nobody could complain..

I kinda agree I dont think having one and done every single year is the best for the program, it's good dont get me wrong. Having one and done come through are good when you put quality 3 and 4 year players in the system, but I would rather have 10 quality 3 and a year players than 10 one and dones..
