I remember when lots of people on here thought Tyler Ulis was way to small to play at a high level school too

What is wrong with the world that someone goes through this much effort for this announcement? Our sensibilities are even more wacked out of proportion than I feared. :tsk:
Does anyone know what AAU team ICL is going to play for. Would like to see him run some point.
You guys will love this video from Thon Maker then announcing he is going to try and enter the draft

What year in school is ICL? I thought they said on the broadcast Saturday that he is a junior. If so, can I assume that we are not recruiting him, or if we are, not as heavily as the other kids in the 2017 class?
Pretty sure he is an '18
Every recruiting site that I've seen has him in the 2017 class.
Yea he is. Junior on the LaLu website. Unfortunate because he looks much better as a prospect as a '18 that has another year of development to experience.

He is a 17 but, if Leron is back on the team and has two years left at that time along with Finke, you could put off the power forward a class to 2018. In that scenario, showing allegiance to LaLu and his family, taking ICL and Tilmon and setting up that much sought after pipeline might be an option. Only if he can play the point. Having TJL and DMW in the fold it isn't necessary to have another point, but we all know how just one injury there can lead to whole basketball forums revolting. Would also be nice to have an Illini Lalu team pic to show Tyger in a few.
I think it is in everyone's best interest if he plays at a mid major and potentially starts rather than sit on the bench at UofI. The above basically assumes he would just be happy to be on the team with his brother for 1-2 years. He can play but it is unlikely he will be a HM at this point given his class and development.
Apparently we're not supposed hear anything until 4/21.Hey, where did all the insiders go? It's a rainy and boring Monday, somebody promise something.

I don't understand what the big deal is. The kid is having a little harmless fun. Chill, people.
In their little high school worlds they are "the man". They think they are important. Not realizing that virtually no one outside of that little bubble even knows who they are or even cares. Part of why there's so many college transfers. They all think they are way better than they are. Then they blame the staffs for them not playing instead of looking in the mirror and trying to improve. Just blame everyone else.
Terrence Lewis – 2017 – SF – Playground Elite
Lewis has gotten vastly better since last summer. A player that’s rounded out his game, Lewis is no longer just a physical interior presence. Having worked hard on his outside shot, Lewis hits from downtown consistently. He’s still got that same junkyard dog mentality and doesn’t shy away from battling on the boards or attacking the basket. Lewis was key in helping Playground Elite reach the 17U title game on Sunday.
Justin Smith – 2017 – G/F – Mac Irvin Fire
Smith really elevated his game in the second half to lead Mac Irvin Fire back from the dead against All-In Young and Reckless. Although his efforts were not enough, it was an impressive surge for Smith, who finished with a game-high 15 points. Smith attacked the basket with a vengeance and nearly brought the rim down with some big slams. A player with a very high ceiling, Smith has the tools to be a stud on either end of the floor at the next level.

It's gonna really hurt when he goes to IU...I saw Smith in Peoria last year and he was quite impressive. He is that kind of long athletic player that seems to excel in the college game.
