Kid has a nice, quiet confidence about him. Good form on a variety of 3's. I have to admit, tho, I was a little distracted watching the defensive technique used by #5 in red on the first few shots.
It appeared as though #5 was efficiently practicing social distancing in his defensive technique. His hair flopping around was the only thing that might have hindered Luke!

Question for those in the know...is Fletch allowed to attend these meetings as staff? I know he’s not a coach and isn’t out evaluating kids on the AAU circuit but I still think he’s a big sell to the program, particularly for a kid like Boakye.

Really like Boakye's game. Would be a fabulous get.
Now that's what I'm talking about! This is HUGE news! Can you imagine stealing a Tom Izzo/MSU recruit? I never really thought this would happen when Boakye announced he was reopening his recruitment. Go get him Brad!!

(I know I say it way too often on here, but it has really sucked having to look up in the standings at the likes of Wisconsin and Michigan State. Let's declare their "time in the spotlight" as officially over. I'd like to see them both in the bottom half of the Big Ten with Northwestern and Nebraska for a 10-15 year stretch. It's time for the Big 10 blue bloods --- Illinois, Indiana and Purdue --- to rise again. It's been like living in an alternate universe for the past 15 years.)

A bit spiteful? Maybe, yeah...... Or just displeased with where Weber and Groce had taken the program.

Spot on about Fletcher being an asset to be leveraged during recruiting visits and communications ... virtual or otherwise.

Yes, Coach Fletcher is allowed to participate in Zoom calls. The NCAA amended its position on who may contact / participate in a virtual meeting. The amended regs allow:

"An institution’s coach, full-time staff member or enrolled student-athlete may initiate or participate on a video call with a prospective student-athlete. Time spent by a student-athlete participating
in recruiting calls is not required to count toward daily and weekly countable athletically related activity limits; however, required calls cannot occur on a required day off from required athletically
related activities (RARA). [Updated based on November 18, 2020, NCAA Division I Council action and December 2, 2020, Blanket Waiver – Virtual Recruiting/Permissible Callers.] Contacts and
Evaluations.

The extent to which he is involved / leveraged by BU is unclear. However, a recent piece on the Fletchers confirms that he is a participant on [at least] some of the recruitment Zooms. The relevant quote:

"... For the most part, they try to turn off work when they’re at home, save for calls from coaches or recruiting pitches conducted via Zoom." (Edit: Quote format)

Hopefully this helps.

My son’s team is playing Christie tonight. His kid brother looks just as good. Is he as highly rated in his class? Are we in on him?

Long list of suitors there (Boakye). No Illinois mention in the video.

From Kedric Prince Twitter:

#Illini Basketball Rec. Update - ‘22 Enoch Boakye, a 6-10, 240-pound Center from George Harris Prep (Canada), has some SERIOUS interest in Illinois now. Boakye de-committed from MSU earlier this week. I spoke with his group today; a Zoom is scheduled with Illinois next week.

Can we add Iowa to the bottom dwellers?
