Any indication as to when Burnett will make a choice????

Unfortunately, it's probably going to be later. He wants total confidence that the 2nd time around is good to go. Roster makeup is going to be critical since he was "over" recruited at TT twice by transfers. If he is going to try and make Spring semester at UIUC, he only has a few days to accomplish such. Fan base would like it to be tomorrow but much later is probably my guess. Go Illini

No issue, whatsoever, with doing due diligence. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me. As always, thanks for the info, TC.

Thanks TC....with Ayo likely departure and Burnetts ties with current Illini players hopefully this will be the fit he's confident with...time will tell

Ugh. Recruiting at this level is always about trying to recruit over your entire roster.

He should try the A10 or Valley if he doesn't want challenges from other players.

Generally I agree with this, but if they laid out a plan to him while recruiting him about role, playing time, development, etc and then add a transfer or two at his position just a few months later (in the same recruiting cycle) then I could see why he wants to transfer out. He was likely told one thing and then thrown into a whole different situation once he got to campus. It's one thing to recruit over in the following cycle, but in the same cycle with transfers - that's a bit different? Don't get me wrong, I don't blame Texas Tech for taking everyone that they could get, but I don't blame him for wanting out either.

Totally agree with this. There is a good chance he was told things not just when he was recruited, but then again after the first transfer and then again after the second transfer. He has 4 years to develop and show enough to get drafted and make a pro basketball career. Why spend it playing for a coach you may not fully trust in a situation that was not what you are looking for?

Transfers are one thing, but add in the fact that the transfer (McClung) left Georgetown and was able to play right away. No sit out year. Burnett saw a path to more playing time on a team that had been successful recently.

He is a great shooter but....

No buts*

I saw a step-back 3. A deep 3. A set 3 where he wanted to pass but the defender didn't respect him, a 3 fading toward the baseline with an and 1. I know he was in the zone with his career best, but my gosh, what scoring threat.

* I realize you were complimenting him.

Kid got a bait and switch pulled on him before he ever played a minute. I'd be cautious as well in his position.

Pole position. Would be nice to have him pull the trigger now, but totally get why he's waiting.

The waiting does have a side benefit for us though: no roster machinations. Considering staff is clearly not throwing in the towel on Hutch and BBV, we're avoiding an awkward situation.
Good to hear, so the very reliable " silent verbal " is a possibility?

Not an insider, no clue. That we are the only school Burnett has had a Zoom call with speaks volumes. So far, lol.
This shouldn't be understated. Keep in mind all the suitors that have reached out. We're the only Zoom he's had so far. When you're going through the recruitment a 2nd time around, you're typically selective of how you spend your time.

It does seem interesting that he doesn't have other zoom calls lined up. It's not like we are talking official visits. Are zoom calls limited by the ncaa or something?
