I wonder if Kofi will be apart of the Zoom call? BIG freshman of the year followed by NBA Draft the next year.
He would be a great recruiting pitch, but even better would be Curbelo. If I’m a big guy and I see this dude, I’m excited about playing with a guy like that. Curbelo is always looking to get Kofi involved.

Kedrick Price on Twitter saying there's contact between the staff and Burnett and there's mutual interest there. As Indy said probably unlikely but glad we are being aggressive with talented transfers

Always like depth in post player pool. Right now we have 4 interior post players, Depth at 4 appears to be taking shape as well. I feel confident Underwood will shoot straight with Oscar and would love to have another 5 available.

But no legit shot bc QC says there is one right people? Geez. I should just copy and paste my football thread post. If you don't like what is said then ignore it. Recruiting
...especially in basketball...is VERY FLUID. People will be wrong. OUR OWN STAFF HAS BEEN WRONG.

OT would be amazing. My first thought was could he play the 4 if Kofi returns? Not likely. I doubt he would take a chance on coming here in case Kofi does return for a 3rd year. I’m glad we are take a run at him tho. This staff is always working.

Unlikely but not impossible. Without getting to into detail, I’ll say this.

First recruiting process, Nimari wasn’t the one making the decisions. If you follow Nimari then you know some particular family members are a little over involved at times and don’t let the kid have a say with what he does. He wouldn’t have gone to Tech if it was up to him is what I was told. This time around, things are going to be different.

I was sent a message tonight saying that Oscar is going to come down to Miami, Illinois and UK. And that Burnett is a real possibility. Likes the idea of the Big Ten a lot.

Now if we somehow get both of them. We all better personally write Whitman letters to give BU and staff another extension. LOL

Was able to talk with a staff source, they are under the impression that Oscar is down to 4 schools and will decide between Miami, NC State, Illinois, and Kentucky.

As stated earlier, Miami and NC State Zoom with him tonight. With Illinois and UK to follow tomorrow. With UK getting the last zoom late tomorrow night.
Sounds like Cal is tired of losing lol

Since they’re both mid season transfers, how would scholarship numbers work out? Aren’t we at 13 now or am I wrong?

Since my post could be construed as an attack on ProfQC I should clarify something... If you bleed orange and blue; I welcome you. Let’s just keep our basketball program winning because the end of last season and the start of this has been a real highlight of the last decade.

Not gonna get all wound up again on OT. But he'd be a helluva replacement for Kofi. Thing is, it's gonna be a hard sell if it's not clear that Kofi's gone. And I think that's as clear as mud.

Same thing w/Burnett. Would love to have him. Adding Burnett to Miller & Curbelo? Yes, please!

Yes, we're currently at 13 scholarships.

However, these two guys would prospectively be mid-season transfers with eligibility only for the 2021-22 season and beyond. They're forfeiting eligibility for the remainder of the current season. And I'm quite sure we'll be allowed to go above 13 scholarships next year due to the Covid rule (i.e. Loren Tate said he expects both Trent and DaMonte to return for a 5th season.)

We have 4 scholarship seniors. So if I'm interpreting everything correctly:

Goode replaces Ayo
Tshiebwe theoretically replaces Kofi
Burnett theoretically replaces Trent
TBD/OPEN replaces DaMonte

Trent and DaMonte then return with their 5th year of eligibility and we're allowed to exceed the scholarship limit by 2. Thus we could perhaps have a scholarship roster of 15 next season. Further, 2020-21 would not count against any player's eligibility (e.g. Curbelo returns as a FR; BBV returns for his third FR season!).

Can't he be our 4?

Mebbe. Not sure if he's grown his game since HS. Back then I'd consider him strictly a 5. Thing is, if he's gonna make the NBA, it'll be as a 4. Hence, there'd be incentive. Kofi & OT together? Think I'd watch that.

Can you imagine practice? Banging off of Kofi for a half year to get ready ....power forward. He can be a 5 in a year. It would increase his status.

Random thought, most teams should be able to go 10 deep if they have Srs. coming back. Maybe more.

One of my favorite highlight tapes I’ve seen since I started following recruiting heavily. I definitely think most around here preferred him to Kofi at the time.

Yessir, I distinctly remember the hype for him on here and how Kofi was almost kind of the fallback option. Once he chose WVU, it seemed like we really put the full court press on for Kofi. Funny how things work out sometimes.

Man if they get Oscar and Burnett that would be a great recovery from missing Mac and the Weston/jones/nesbitt/tyty wing group that was just missed. Oscar was great during his senior season. I recall him having a great workout in front of the fans during his Illinois visit.
