To dig up old news, still disappointed in losing out on Landers Nolley. Adding him and/or Jones is exactly what this team needs.

Landers recruitment was crazy, de-committing and committing within the week.

With all this stuff going on with AZ, Jones is wide open.

Expect staff to push hard for OV from Jones. Ayo wants him bad.

Not everyday that the Nation's leading JUCO rebounder is available. Go get Trice, Brad!! We need a glass cleaner.

Every time I see the name Trice, I think "Obie Trice, real name, no gimmicks" anyone else?

Alan Griffin looks like a decent prospect to me. He can really shoot it. You can watch one of his HS games with the link. The game starts at about 1:04:00 (he's #0). Legit think he would be the best 3 pt. shooter on the team next year if he were to end up here.

Also, his father, Adrian Griffin, played for the Chicago Bulls and coached for them as well. I think he's currently coaching at OKC. He also has a brother, Adrian Jr., who is a couple years younger and looks like he might end up being a player, too. Thought it was interesting.

I like Griffin a lot. He reminds me a lot of Kerry Kittles in the way he plays and even how he's put together. Bring him in we could use him. Good pedigree too his father used to play college ball for Syracuse, then landed with Boston Celtics and then on to the Bulls. Good prospect

#Illini Underwood: Da'Monte has been great on the glass. I showed our team clips of Te'Jon in the Rutgers game. The way he denied Sanders the ball. He had three of the best offensive rebounds we've had all year.

For all the talk of TJL transferring it doesn't seem like he's as deep in the doghouse as some people think. I didn't get to listen to the whole presser but TJL was mentioned twice in the snippets Piper put on Twitter. The other was mention of how we didn't have him in the first Iowa game and as a result of that weren't very good defensively..

I hope he stays and in no way would have like the Jacobs-TJL trade some were suggesting.

Lucas, I believe started off miffed about Frazier having BU confidence and given the keys to the car (his last year), any kid would rightfully feel this way imo.

Where he has made strides is realizing that playing Goose to Frazier's Maverick might not be such a bad gig?

Riding shotgun is a lot better than being in the backseat for the trip about to happen! :chief:

He appears to have come to an understanding of his role and embraced it, while taking a couple of weeks off. The team is much better off as a result.

BU making a point to praise TJL whenever he can - my guess is he's trying to convince him to stay around.

Or he actually deserves it.

My impression of BU is that he wouldn't say it if he didn't think he deserved it - my only point is he seems to be making a point of calling it out a bit more. An I would completely agree - totally deserved - big TJL fan here.

Even with Ayo on the roster, I think there's a role for TJL on next year's squad. He will still be our best defensive lead-guard and will be able to play in the same backcourt as either (or potentially both) Frazier and Ayo.

If he sees an opening, TJL is also really good, and quick, at getting to the rim. It just doesn't happen enough.

He does deserve it, but there could be more to it than that. I think BU is far more intelligent in how he addresses players publicly than our past two coaches. His management of players is impressive.

He holds them to high standards, punishes when not meeting standards, rewards when they make a change. Can't ask for any more.

One of the skills that has plagued this team the most has been our inability to shoot from outside, not necessarily our low post presence. There have been so many times I've watched guys like Lucas & Smith (and many others) be in positions where they were wide open and they didn't even look to shoot. If we could start to get more consistent jump shooting out of Lucas, Smith, Kipper, & Williams, that would drastically change this team. Throw in Ayo and another athletic shooter from this recruiting class and now you're talking about a team with the best backcourt in the Big Ten.

The really good Louisville teams of years past had 4-5 high quality guards that split their minutes. TJL definitely has a big role in our future.

As well as freakishly long and athletic big men that could rebound and protect the rim :D;)

Count me in the TJL fan club. I thought it was somewhat humorous that he went from has to play, he is good last year to can't shoot, he's gonna transfer this year. I'd say he's the only player who somewhat consistently gets to the bucket and makes them. I do find it funny when people say "get to the rim" with Lucas though, because most of the layups I see him make I'm not sure how he gets them up there because he's not near the rim. And for all the talk about his poor FT shooting (and, yes, he needs to improve it), Frazier isn't much better but seems to get a pass.

While that's true, and as much as I commend TJL for his motor & defense, Lucas had problems with decision making and contributed to the low BBIQ/Stupid fouls syndrome this year. Frazier, not so much. And it so happens that so many of the free throws TJL missed were 1-1's and that's just unacceptable for your point guard. We know he's better than that. He will be a very good upper classman player.
