Yes, seriously, it would be huge.
Tells other Illinois studs is cool to consider Illinois again. Cools Groce seat. Builds momentum.
Yes, this would be a big deal

...fills huge void at the position. Lol

I noticed Tillmon's CB has been very silent. No vibes coming out from anyone? There was the small flurry of UNC picks back in January, but other than that, nothing.

He seems to be smart kid. I think intelligence is an underrated quality in players. I have heard coach K say the first really good class he recruited was a collectively bright bunch. He felt good students in the classroom made for good students on the court and those kids made an easier transition to college .

Chastain is going to school for Pre-Law. Loyola was first to offer and good pre-law so there is some interest but they slow played him so might be some resentment for not offering full ride with no strings. His is a sharp kid.

Like others agree he will play division I somewhere but not at a PG. Pretty good ball handler so could help at the 2 as necessary. Not only a good shooter also a good scorer.

I figured Leo speed and athleticism would cause Leroy and Chastain some havoc - but nope.
Saw Liberty play twice and their style will cause turnovers and make the games ugly. I wouldn't use the Liberty game and 10 TO's as baseline for this kid. Liberty obviously saw the Newark game and decided that they were going to make others score.

Don't know where the kid ends up but will be rooting for him to do well.

Yeah if we get Tilmon Goodwin likely joins and then we become cool again. That possibly puts Derek Culver in play and my god if we have a Tilmon, Culver front court.

Yes, I know what game and class I was watching, but thanks for pointing it out. :thumb: As mentioned in another response to Newman, he could have played point for us this year and not been any worse than what we had.

This is just 100% wrong. The only thing he would have done as well as (or better) than Lewis is shooting percentage. Lewis is far superior in every other regard. I saw a player that will likely be successful in the MVC, but he is not a Big Ten caliber talent.

Is that like only Northern Iowa good? The team that beat North Carolina earlier this year? Or is it more like only Wichita State good? :thumb:

The crystal ball jumped the shark. Unless there is an announcement date set it's probably not a great tell anymore.

Yeah it was fun for a while, but I think fans finally wised up on it, and therefore it doesn't do the predictors much good to make predictions if no one really cares

So if we have some scholarships available, what about this guy...I know nothing about him but just interested in what people think.

2015 Freshman (Redshirt) 6'9 F Alex O'Neill (@AlexONeill8 ) has been granted his release from Creighton. Eligible to play next season!

Haha nevermind then :)

So I hope Tilmon can commit soon to us, when are people think this might happen.

Anyone that claims they know when it will happen is being less than truthful. The reality is that he's making all the right noises about Illinois, which is causing rumors to swirl. Including one rumor that other teams are backing off because he likes us so much. Are these rumors true? Who knows. We've heard it all before (I'm looking at you Mr. Alexander).

Groce and co. seem to have built a good relationship with him and others in 2017. It seems clear that's a major reason that Whitman is sticking by him. Now it's wait and see time. The good news is there aren't any more blowout Illinois loses for these kids to watch.

If he is a walk-on, why does he need to be granted a release?

Dunno, but MLT had to redshirt this year in order to do the graduate transfer thing next year, so it may make sense rthat he needs a release.
