You can transfer private to private, private to public, or public to private with the IHSA if you change primary residency. This happens all the time in the metro east. Basically, when your residency "changes" to another school district, then you can pick which school you want to attend.

I have worked in Belleville school districts for about 10 years now. The length that some of these families will go to is incredible to give their child an opportunity to succeed athletically.

FYI..........It is the same in Indiana. The only way you can get 'released' is by a waiver system from school to school. Since he moved, no one can stop him.

To give some context, Tilmon and LaLu are playing in the Dick's Sporting Goods national tournament at the end of March, so their season won't be over until early April. I would be very surprised if he committed before his season is over.

He's already committed, remember? ;)....lol but seriously Lefty is typically solid when he provides info.

I wouldn't make too much of this, I would bet this is the same information Combes reported working its way through the Michigan camp. When there is an announcement or if we still think we are in good shape with an announcement scheduled then I will raise my expectations.

It is always good to see GREAT news like this from Lefty. Usually he is spot on.

Hope this isn't the one time he's wrong... :):illinois::chief:

Something, something barbershop joke.

Jokes aside, this would fill a kill two birds with one stone in areas where Groce has failed as a recruiter at UI:
1. Land a 5* recruit
2. Land an impact post player.

But I will continue to remain cautiously optimistic until this has been verbalized by Tilmon himself.

Didn't Tilmon just transfer to La Lu? Seems weird to transfer back to back years.
Still weird to transfer back to back, but wasn't the cause of his transfer to LaLu related to a teacher strike? It was possible him missing classes to start the year do to that could cause issues with NCAA? I don't remember for sure

Obviously nobody should be too worked up until it actually happens but Lefty has proven multiple times that he has legit inside knowledge via Michigan basketball.

Where are we with Eastern? Has been pretty quiet

Good question. According to 247 sports, Groce visited him on February 12. I know a lot of other big names have shown interest and/or offered him such as MSU, Ohio State, and Duke. If you believe in the crystal balls, which doesn't seem accurate until an imminent commitment date, he has 7/7 predictions for MSU.

Total guess: We've backed off since the Damonte commitment, too much of the same and we have a lot of holes to fill in the 2017 class.

Hmmm I know his leg injury held off some teams for awhile... I sure hope we wouldn't back off Eastern because of Williams...could you imagine that backcourt?

Eastern and Evanston also had a bad end to the season. Losing quite a few games and getting knocked out of the playoffs early. Eastern is still a good prospect, but I don't think this HS season did anything too boost his status.

Since we already have Pickett in the backcourt with Williams and have made Goodwin a priority, I doubt that Eastern is an option. We need some bigs.

Evanston was 23-6 on the year and played a national schedule--Elite Classic, Bluegrass Holiday and City/Suburban showdown. ETHS was #1 seed of a tough Sectional and idd loose to Notre Dame in semi's. ND is going to State. Eastern bounced back nicely from his horrific ankle injury and was named to the all tourney team in Bluegrass classic. He also has been invited to the USA development camp. Painter, OSU, and MSU have all been into see him in the lst month. He will be a HM and don't be surprised if it's a BIG team.

Groce saw him when we played Northwestern.
