I would love to see both of them develop a post move, but if I had to chose one I think I want it to be Black. As good as he rebounds, I want that guy around the basket at all times. I think you could also get some matchup problems. I think as a Jr and SR Black could really out muscle guys on the block.

something that just popped into my head... can anybody tell me if Black is planning on applying for a Medical Redshirt for this year? is it even possible for him to do that?? sorry if wrong thread Dan

If he doesn't play anymore, then he will file for one. If he comes back, then he won't.

hmm... ive been out of the loop with him regarding his injury. whats his timetable? will he come back?

Kind of questionable. Swelling is the problem. JG said they wouldn't bring him back till he is 100% . From all reports, Thorne is ahead of Leron.

1.2 Turnovers per game
That's the important number in regards to Tate. He's a vocal leader on the floor, plays adequate defense, and doesn't turn the ball over. He doesn't score much, but he doesn't give away points to the other team either. Everyone talks about the need for a high scoring PG, but the more the ball is in the hands of a PG, the less it is in the hands of Nunn and Hill. Those are the two that should be getting touches every time down the court.

And the nice thing about Nunn and Hill being our go to scorers is that it will take some pressure off of Lucas. He won't have to come in and do much more than distribute the ball and play defense. Honestly, if he does anything more than that it is gravy...

Got some good information today re: Tilmon. Announcement soon perhaps. Positive for Illini. More to come...

Not gonna ask you to spill your guts or give up your source or anything, but I am slightly curious about what kind of time line you are hearing.

He doesn't get hit in the head when another team mate throws him a pass when he's not looking..... :)

Probably just setting up officials, right? Can't imagine kid is even close to dropping a commitment.

Your crazy. You play your best players. Tate will be a SR. but Lucas is better than Tate right now. Not saying Lucas is great because he is an Illini recruit, but you are underestimating him. Are you basing this on his ranking or have you actually watched him play? No chance he redshirts, zero, none.

Uhh, he is going to Illinois, so his injury chances increased exponentially, as did his zero chance of red shirting :D

Sorry, Larry, just having a little fun with the absolute of "zero chance" comment.

Based on playing ability, I tend to agree with you. He is hopefully that point guard recruit we have all been hoping. Perhaps even a fame changing recruit for the Illini. Based on bad luck, . . .

If it does, it probably hits someone and puts them on the DL...

I don't have a specific. Call I got this morning was "he and family ready to have this all done." Hearing a very short list and :illinois: in very good shape. I'll certainly pass on more when I get it. I can press for some more Intel too. I just generally take what I hear when I hear it. Go :shield:!!
