I don't want to be too irrational here.. but I just had a thought that the McDAA game is in Chicago tonight. There are a few un-committed prospects mixed in there. Most of whom are probably ending up at Duke, UK, Arizona etc.. but is it possible one of them is looking for a last minute visit?

It's probably Rako or the Freshman from St. Joe's. But couldn't ignore the irrationally wild, speculative thought that crossed my mind.

Walker is so young. Its a lonnggggg time until he could sign. We have so many immediate problems it would be hard to get excited even if he committed as a freshman.

Yes, his attitude isn't the best . It seems like hes always yelling at his teammates, arguing with the refs, talking trash to other team, flopping, faking an injury, laying on the court. He is something else to watch, pretty entertaining actually. I'm not convinced he will be a successful college basketball player. He's like Demarcus Cousins(attitude) without the skill.

I've been a critic, but he was much better in all those areas this year.

If it's someone big, I wonder how that would shake out with the Tillmon/Goodwin situation. Only so many spots to go around, right?

He is young in terms of class. Not age, though.

1) There's no guarantee that Tilmon or Goodwin are coming to Illinois, so you wouldn't skip out on a chance to land a different big recruit.

2) We have 2 more open scholarships beyond those hypothetically claimed by Tilmon and Goodwin, if I recall correctly.

Actually, a ton of scholarships available for the 2017 class.

If this is a 2016 recruit it must mean that the staff isn't very confident in either Thorne's waiver, or one of our suspended players returning

I'm not confident in Thorne's waiver. But I don't know anything.

Well, even if you felt pretty good about each one of them individually, collectively the odds favor losing one. At 90% retention per player, you lose one about 34% of the time. At 80%, you lose one 59% of the time

I have zero info but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 5th year big that is at least 'solid' and could be serviceable if Thorne doesn't get a waiver. I wouldn't be disappointed in that, either.

Somebody with more knowledge about 5th year transfers would have to infer who that could possibly be, if anybody! I surely don't know.

I would love to hear of a highly touted late '16 big but not holding my breath.

Good thing about a 5th year big is it would affect the Tilmon recruitment in no way whatsoever.

Better this way. We get to speculate who the mystery kid is rather than deal with dozens of hand-wringing worry warts and several faux insiders bandying the L-word around.

Might not even by a '17 kid. :)

Well since we've thrown almost every name out there, what's happening with Luwane Pipkins at Umass? Is he looking to transfer?[emoji1]
