I wonder why Chino Hill's coach was ok with this. Sounds kind of despicable.

The Chino Hill team has been all about the Ball brothers for the past couple years. Anyone not named Ball on that team is only there to help the Ball brothers score more points and get more publicity. It is pretty pathetic, and even dumber when you consider that all of the brothers have already committed to UCLA so they don't even need to worry about trying to raise their recruiting stock.

The coach is his dad. Anything to get your boy some publicity right?!

Exactly! The coach is the dad. He won't stop talking about his boys all being one-and-done. Knowing how the team plays and hearing him talk, it is kind of all about them. Not a good look, in my opinion.

I don't like it either but they did win the hypoyhetical "national championship" last year.

Of course, Lonzo looks pretty incredible as a true freshman starting point guard at UCLA. Dad's antics aside, the kids can play. Not sure about defense, but then Harden doesn't play defense either, and he's an MVP candidate.

All that being said, the 92 pts (and the 71 his older brother scored in a game earlier) come with huge pathetic asterisks.

pretty sure I also read that Chino Hills (Ball's team) was fouling near the end of the game to try and get him more shots instead of letting the other team dribble out the clock.

I think if I were the refs I'd have started calling intentional fouls after the first one or two once it was evident what they were doing. Foul shots and keep the ball.

Should have been calling a two line pass penalty and put him in the box for two minutes.

Anybody heard anything on how DaMonte's rehab is going?

Sources close to Smith's camp said Coach Miles and Nebraska were in Edwardsville and Smith picked up another Big 10 offer today.....

With everything going on I just don't see him to coming to Illinois which sucks because he's the type of player that this program needs.

If it's been posted, I've forgotten. Has he given a timeline for a decision? If he intends to wait a while, a new staff could still get a shot at him. Not likely, sure, but it's not likely anyway at this point.

That was so scary. What a great kid and great family. I hope he fully recovers and can get back but if not, his future is bright anyway.

Yes it is for such a young kid. Heard they had to use an AED on him after collapsing during the game and are putting in a pacemaker.

He lives just around the corner from us and our boys played basketball together when they were younger. I will let you know if I hear more. They go to different schools now so I don't hear as much.
