Not in basketball, and not for kids that have never played, and not when you've fired their coach.
We would get crucified, and we would give in.
Not to mention adorning persona non grata status in St. Louis recruiting.

So? You're just adding stipulations that do not matter when it comes to a LOI.
First it was "oh that doesn't happen in basketball ever you're thinking of football" and now you've moved the goalposts to a very specific situation where half the circumstances really aren't relevant because a clear recent example in Uthoff takes 2 seconds and google to find.
Basketball transfers can be blocked. Porter Jr. didn't sign a LOI for a reason. Tilmon almost didn't sign a LOI for a reason. If signing a LOI was so irrelevant why is it high profile kids sometimes don't do it? Because they don't want to hinder their possible choices.
You can spend the next couple hours digging up the information if you want. I'm dealing with facts here not trying to play the "name one time" game like a child.
Bo Ryan restricted Jared Ulthoff from transferring in conference (which you previously said didn't happen). I'm not a basketball database but that was pretty high profile and clearly demonstrates basketball coaches can and will block a transfer if they decide to.
Of all examples....are you forgetting the fallout from that?

There is not a chance in hell we would restrict Tilmon unless we had ironclad proof that Mizzou tampered with him. And even then it is probably doubtful. Do we really want the first stories about our new HC to be about not letting a kid out of an LOI after a firing?
Any news on Smith?
May want to check the Coaching Search thread.
We'll I figured I'd ask in the recruiting thread since you know it's recruiting news.
The short answer is "no."We'll I figured I'd ask in the recruiting thread since you know it's recruiting news.
Well, technically the coach he really committed to is still here. But your point still stands, there would be no restrictions.I could spill 10,000 words on this but I won't. It's this simple:
We fired his coach.
