Based on all the smoke surrounding SLU, you have to wonder if its really true that he wasn't talking to SLU.
Kind of like Bill Self wasn't talking to KU when he was our coach?

Exactly. That's my thought as well, it's not like someone will subpoena the phone records. If you're only talking to one party about "arrangements", best to just play it like you're talking to nobody. And if that's what is happening, the last thing you want to do is talk to the other schools since they will confront you about what's up.Based on all the smoke surrounding SLU, you have to wonder if its really true that he wasn't talking to SLU.

The writing is on the wall. We all know what's happening here. It sucks, talking about it is lethargic. I've mentally moved on, but it's tough to get over whenever this BS happens to us.:gossip:

So JGood has effectively restored the intrigue to his recruitment that Tilmon kiboshed with his post-commit comments
Can anyone who did/is listening to Tay and Jay fill us in on what was said? Unfortunately, I can't listen in at work! Thanks!
The cream always rises. If he truly wants to be a PG, he'd be a PG anywhere.I'm not listening to it but someone on another (free) board said: "Listening to Tay and J, sounds like he wants to be a PG and not a flex 234 hybrid tweener."
One thing to note that in the past it was more difficult to "peruse" sports history. Nowadays I can go to Wikipedia and get the entire history of UCLA Basketball in a few seconds, plus links to the players and coaches history, links to news articles, etc.
I think many people here are a little out of touch. How can you tell me a talented high school basketball player, who is presumably a fan of the sport as well, would have no idea who John Wooden or Kareem is? Doesn't take much parsing to know the winningest program in NCAA basketball history was UCLA. I'm sure like many fans these kids are involved in discussions comparing the athletes and teams of today, to those of the past.
As an example I am a fan of cross country and track, and am constantly involved in discussions comparing High Schoolers, Collegiates, and Pros to figures as far back as Steve Prefontaine and Craig Virgin (both rose to fame in the early 1970s). Heck sometimes guys like Emil Zatopek or the Flying Finns sometimes enter discussions.
Exactly, my instant reaction as well. If you want to be a PG, be a PG. And if you're a PG talent, you'll get recruited as a PG. If you're recruited as a combo guard and are good enough to play PG, you'll play PG.The cream always rises. If he truly wants to be a PG, he'd be a PG anywhere.
Maybe he will be a darn good PG. But if he ends up being one, he would have been one anywhere he went.It seems like a great idea to be given the keys to the team and run the show until you realize that no one outside of SLU will notice. He'll lose significant exposure and lose value in his degree. He better be a darn good PG...
Cusumano says Illinois the leader until Tate hire. Says look for a verbal to SLU on Friday or Monday.
Maybe Whitman can get this guy hired real quick.Cusumano says Illinois the leader until Tate hire. Says look for a verbal to SLU on Friday or Monday.
