How much does Frazier compare to Lucas? I'm very interested to see how our guard lineup will play out with Lucas, Williams, Frazier, JCL, & Jordan. That's a pretty sweet lineup of guards IMO

The title for Frazier is lead guard. In my eyes that's a combo leaning towards the 1. He's got plenty of pg qualities and I wouldn't call him a project at the 1 at all.

Didn't say he was a project. He just has been used more as a scorer than distributor in high school. Same with Willuams. Lucas has been a point guard from the beginning.

Dee didn't play the point in high school, either. I think Frazier will be a really good player at Illinois whether runs the point full time or not.

Something to remember here is that TF's visit didn't start until 9 pm or something like that on Friday, so his visit can last until 9 pm tonight. Not like some of the previous visitors' that have been on campus that start their visit in the early afternoon on Fridays

I think people are too stuck on what used to be the role of a PG. Way too many folks think about players like Jason Kidd, John Stockton or Magic when they think about what a "true" PG is but forget that in this new age of basketball the PGs coming out look more like Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard and Steph Curry. Just because a PG is score first doesn't mean he's a combo guard.

I believe it was Groce and many others who have said that "players play". So we may have two combo guards on the court with strong PG skills and another combo guard who is more pure shooter. I like that we have Tejon Lucas, he reminds me of Kiwane Garris. We have Damonte, who is very athletic and long for the PG position, and now possibly TF. We can likely play 2/3 on the court at the same time along with another type of G/WF.

2 maybe. 3 is a bit of stretch. You're talking about having 3 guys under 6'3 on the court at one time in the BIG.

I'm not stuck on that at all. Derek Harper is my favorite Illini and he was truly a scoring point guard. His junior year, he was moved to the two and Bruce Douglas, a more traditional point, ran the team.

The more ball handlers, the better.

Agreed. Look at Villanova, UNC and Oklahoma from last year. All guards who can create is a necessity in today's basketball climate

Easton, Il
I'm hearing, yes, he will commit today at some point.

A high(ish) profile recruit from another state expressed interest, called us his leader throughout, and then actually follows through and commits? Hopefully it all works out.

Here's a question, if Frazier commits in the next 24 hours, who does that help us with the most of all the other 2017 offers we have out?
