This could probably never happen. But sure would be fun if it did.

Wendell Carter, the No. 1 overall player on the HoopSeen125 national rankings, will take an official visit to Harvard the weekend of Sept. 17. Mohamed Bamba will take an unofficial visit to Harvard on Sept. 24, according to a source close to the situation. The No. 4 overall ranked player has been a prime target for Tommy Amaker and staff in the 2017 recruiting class.

That would sure be something else.

Mayan Kiir please!! Dude is like a 4 and a 3. He's a beast how versitile he is! And being from Sudan, imagine how much more he still is going to develop with all the skill he has already, and thats not even taking into account how he would look after a year or two of fletch!

Was focused on the 2017s. Had no clue Garland was ranked that high. Mea Culpa. That said, I trust Scout's and Rivals' more than ESPN's. They have Ayo and Garland around the same and Ramey high 50s-60.

Still think Ramey may turn out the best of the group.

My humble opinion. garland is better than both ayo and Ramey. He averaged 16 a game playing up on 17 in EYBL. garland played up on a peach jam team Ramey played lower lever and ayo played 16u.

He would be a true difference maker. Best player on video athletically I've seen out of our recruits. Quick, tall, and can jump out of the gym.

Sort of like Austin Colbert.:)

Kinda reminds me of Hakim Warrick. Actually, not, but neither does Colbert. Kiir is 225 lbs. as an 18 yo. Colbert was still a wisp when he transferred out. Colbert's main issue was lack of drive. Kiir could be a standout player for us.

Someone already posted about Kiir's physical transformation this past year. He definitely has room to grow but apparently he's been getting some solid gains. If he puts on another 25-30lbs in the next couple years, you have yourselves a freak.

Obviously Kiir has great upside and I'd be excited to land him, but it seems absurd to rationalize away his modest ranking and lack of national buzz based on a few 1-3 minute highlight videos on YouTube. He's 6'9, 225, can handle and pass, has been praised for his motor and athleticism, and put up good numbers this summer, but his ranking remains in the the 100-200 range (depending on the service). That means he's definitely raw and there are concerns about his development; otherwise, he's a top-50 guy at least with that profile. Highlight videos show the highlights.

I feel pretty confident asserting that Kiir may be underrated and that his ceiling is tremendous. However, he also has relatively high bust potential. I think the Colbert comparison is fair from that standpoint. The NBA prognostications are over the top - it's just silly to ignore experts' opinions based on so little data. I'd take Kiir in a heartbeat, but I'm more excited about Jacob Epperson - mostly because he went from totally unknown to borderline top-50 in a month. If the scouts moved Kiir from 175 or so to 102, but Epperson went from no evaluation to #58, that tells me he flashed big time potential.

Either way, potentially huge win for us. By the time they're upperclassmen, I expect them to be standouts. Gotta land one.

Epperson had 15+ offers during July evaluation period and Kiir had 1 during the same period. Both had national exposure. It's obvious the ranking difference.

Good points. The thing I like most about Kiir is his potential to be a great rebounder. That's one thing we haven't had for a while. He's also shown a willingness to put in the work to improve his body. To me this is a big deal.

Epperson is more skilled at this point, and would provide more offense. I'd take him in a heartbeat too. Either player would be a great option.

Epperson is going to LaLu correct? Any other insight out there about him having interest in us? No guesses on 247 (FWIW).

Is there any tape on Epperson from the July period against good teams? All I found was him dominating AUS high school kids hes a foot taller than.

And on Victory Rock's website he lists himself as Coach/CEO, plus one of the players he lists as one of "his alumni" is Anthony Davis. :D

And the woman listed as Director of Admissions at the bottom is his wife. Mom and Pop basketball high school. 20 years of Chicago Public Schools experience for both. For some in our fanbase that's red flag time. (And with Davis he was probably either his coach earlier in Davis' high or middle school career, or maybe a private coach. Notice he takes credit for 'discovering' DRose in 2nd grade.)

I also noticed while looking around that Iowa, Minnesota and Purdue are also chasing Epperson, all have offered. I'll rule out Minnesota for the time being, but Purdue and Iowa will be in the hunt for sure.

Just last month, NCAA ruled Garjok Gak, a fellow South Sudanese friend of Kiir's and Victory Rock "GRAD" ineligible at Florida. The NCAA cited Gak as having academic issues and also visa issues. Might explain Kiir only having 5 offers and no OV's scheduled. I'll pass in favor of Epperson.

So....to be clear, if we are able to get a commitment from either Epperson or Kiir, we will be getting either Hakim Warrick or Larry Bird??

But NOT Colbert, or any other collegiate bust that these two gentleman's games may remind us of! EXCELLENT!

Then we are clearly in a no lose situation! as long as we sign them. No risk recruits are the BEST!

Excellent spade work. Obviously, staff has to do due diligence squared here. That said, you keep your irons in the fire. WRT Epperson, that he's attending LaLu has to help. But distance isn't going to matter.
