I like Frazier but Scruggs is on a completely different level. Hope JT can sell him hard.

Werner mentioned on the radio that Tilmon was UNC's biggest recruit. Wow

Now go lock up JGOOD and Frazier and call it a day. Those both seem very likely at this point, and that puts us in a pretty good spot to be able to take a big swing at someone like Scruggs, or another post player with the last scholarship. If you swing and miss give it to a walkon for a year and bank it for 18

That potential roster has me salivating

Doesn't Tilmon play with Brian Bowen?

He does, but that might even be too much to expect from the LaLumiere pipeline. Brian Bowen has DEEP ties to Michigan State. If he choose Illinois, I'll start to believe that anything is possible.

No doubt. As fantastic as that would be, I can't even reasonably daydream about that one.

If Bowen chooses Illinois the next headline will be: NCAA to probe Illinois recent recruiting activities.

Then we get hit with sanctions. Over something like a pizza, who knows.

No, we have 5-7 weeks to land Scruggs. Thinking Tilmon's and Goodwin's (hopefully) commitments will get his attention. If no go, then you take Frazier.

That is awesome. Good to see the authentic excitement from a guy who might have just saved his job, and his boss who really would rather not have to fire him. Cool moment.

LOL.... yeah, that was totally spontaneous :D

Tilmon needs work, but he moves really well for a guy of his size and length, and seems to have at least adequate hands and feet. NBA potential down the line for sure.

I have watched him play multiple times. Good body, good physique, decent hands. Footwork needs improvement. He shoots too low (lowest since Shaun Pruitt) and needs to improve his vertical on his shot release. Not a 1-n-done type of player, probably overrated at this point, yet, exactly the player that Illinois needs for multiple reasons. Tilmon was huge wrt this recruiting class.

Not discrediting your take on the big fella, but the announcers for the Dick's National Tourney were commenting on Tilmon and one of them said the aspect of Tilmon's game that have coaches salivating the most(besides his size) is his footwork. Verbatum the commentator said his footwork was "excellent". He doesn't have a go-to move but he seems pretty nimble on his feet to me

Under Fletch's tutelage, Tilmon may very well morph into a monster.

My source (JEREMIAH TILMON) told me Jamall Walker was HUGE in this decision. Wouldn't happen otherwise, in his words
Dave Wischnowsky ‏@wischlist
FYI, source tells me that Tilmon is committing to Illinois, and not just committing to a coach. If true, that's very good news. #illini

Wischnowsky has never been all that tied into recruiting and he's a well-known Groce-hater. I take a lot of those sorts of tweets by him with a large grain of salt.

An awful lot of "I told you so" comments coming out after the fact. People want people to think they are "still" insiders.

It's plain to see he can get off the floor very quickly. Could be a bear on the offensive glass.

Well, I am usually not part of the crowd who salivates every summer on players' physical improvement on pictures posted on social media, but Tilmon is indeed the kind of player who can become a physical specimen in college.
