You do realize that there is star inflation today. ESPN gives 4*'s to the first 194 recruits. 4* now days is like participation ribbons.:D

He's an 82 overall as are the last 12 players of the ESPN top 100 so it's likely he's pretty close.

My son follows UF pretty close, has had friends playing for them for last 8 years or so, but I don't have time. He tells me that they really wanted Sexton, but Avery Johnson probably has him sowed up. Frazier had camped with them the last couple of summers and played very well, but they never offered. Lots of Gators questioned that decision.

May have a chip on his shoulder over it now.

Thanks for the info. To Floridas credit they got a pretty solid player with Alexander. Here's a tweet from last month..

Shai Alexander WOWING Canada Basketball @ senior National team level @ the PG spot. Makes sense. A 6'5 PG with full skill set will do that.

Don't think Florida is a major player for Fraziers recruitment right now, but recruiting is fluid. He didn't even mention them this weekend..

“Illinois, Seton Hall, Cincinnati, Maryland, Old Dominion, Rhode Island and a few other schools have hopped on,” noted Frazier.

I told you guys we didn't need to be concerned about Frazier's ranking or offer list until after July basketball.

If he keeps playing like this, he'll get recognition. Hopefully Groce can lock him down.

I was just thinking that Frazier is pretty similar in terms of size, athleticism, scoring acumen, and ranking to another Florida combo guard, Corey Sanders. Not saying he'll have that kind of impact, but they look really similar on paper and in highlights: quick, explosive lead guards who are wired to score; small, but good length and bounce; high motor players who are always in attack mode. Sanders was ranked #114 by 247 and #93 composite. I expect that Frazier will land in that range if he lights up Las Vegas.

Hey- we all hope DaMonte rebounds from his struggles, but it is pretty clear that he will not be a consensus RSCI Top 100 anymore.

My point is that other than Tilmon, the class while it does have some nice prospects who will hopefully contribute down the road, it is not a great class yet by any means without a Goodwin type added to the other guys.

We really need to another Top 50 guy who can come in and give us impact minutes right away.

Goodwin would make a decent class a very good class.

Like your standards mojo, but at worst we have a good class already IMO. Goodwin + Frazier would put us in the awesome category IMO.

I know everyone is in love with Goodwin, and rightfully so. But I hope people don't lose excitement over this class if we don't get him. IMO getting one of Goodwin, Lewis, Eastern, or Smith makes this a really good and exciting class. Of course still have to get a PG and PF/C to go along with one of those wings.

That being said, I bet we do get Goodwin.

I'm probably the biggest Verge fan on here. I so do wish he'd been smart about his academics. Depleted MS vs MIF at Summer Showdown.

Alonzo Verge is making it look easy out here. Hesitation and burst. Just had an and-one finish. MeanStreets up 6.

When you let Alonzo Verge play downhill, watch out. He's making some plays. Just weaved through traffic & finished at the hoop off a spin.

Da'Monte Williams came to play today. Hit a transition three, converted a smooth Euro-step finish & just took a charge. #Illini

No Brian Bowen, Nojel Eastern or Justin Smith. But Da'Monte against Verge and Gilyard is intriguing.

FINAL: MeanStreets 60, Mac Irvin 51. Alonzo Verge was the difference in May meeting. Same today. Da'Monte Williams made his share of plays.

Back-to-back corner triples by Da'Monte Williams. But Mac Irvin is down 9 with 12 secs left. Too much Alonzo Verge in the 2nd half.

At least Da'Monte had a good game too. As I remember he scored like 3 or 5 points the first time MS and The Fire played.

Agree. Just want to get another impact kid who will be able to work into rotation quickly.

I expect Williams to also work into the rotation pretty quickly. We will have a PG and SG covered anyway from a starters standpoint but he should be able to contribute off the bench pretty early on. How many minutes is yet to be seen and will depend a lot on the play of AJ and TJL along with if the PG we get (hopefully) is someone like Frazier or someone of the caliber of Scruggs. Combine that will Tilmon and we already have 2 important positions with players who should be able to contribute as freshmen. Add in Goodwin and we should have at least 3. I think Pickett is an obvious RS candidate.

Regardless of who we get outside of Tilmon and Scruggs (if we are so lucky) I don't see any of the 2017 class as starters right away.

I would expect Williams and (possibly) Frazier to compete hard with TJL for the starting PG spot. Lucas is only going to have a year head start on those guys. Unless JCL has somehow developed into a PG (which I don't expect), that spot should be pretty wide open, no?

For some reason, he just reminds me of Yogi Ferrell. Obviously not near the same talent level or possible All-B1G player (one of the best), but maybe it's that he looks like him I don't know, that's just the vibe I get watching his play style.

I don't see much in common between Frazier and Ferrell. Cameron Payne at Murray State is my best comp.

Not sure DaMonte is seen as a PG at this point. If so, he will be fighting for time with two other guys if we get Frazier.

If he is considered a shooting guard/wing then he will be competing with JCL, Jordan. DJ Williams. Nichols, Pickett and possibly Goodwin or similar additional top wing. Could be 7 guys for 2 starting spots unless we go small.
I don't see many minutes for him unless he really comes on or somehow takes over the PG role.
