I think he just joined them for this tourney. He probably saw on IL that he has not played against any competition and joined up for this weekend.:)
I saw a tweet on it about 2 hours ago. I saw it on this link.

now who would say anything like that?:)
good find. I'd gone looking for him the other night and could only find Wellington Wolves as his AAU team.

It's great that all of the articles released today have proven that a lot of our "insiders" were correct back in March/April and were correct again the last couple of days. Thanks again for sharing your info, even though the lynch mob comes hunting for you all occasionally!

I'm probably on the outside on this, but if Goodwin comes to Illinois I just don't see the fit for Eastern. Between Picket/Goodwin/Kipper/Jordan/DJW I just don't think it'd be smart to take another wing (and have 3 in one class).

To me, we need a high floor/good upside wing and that's Lewis/Goodwin/Eastern. You have your future 6 man already in Pickett.

Then you need an athletic defender at PF/C.

And a pure PG to round it all out.

That class brings great balance and is a program changer.

You also have to add JCL, and the fact that Williams is indeed a combo. I agree, if we add Goodwin (no, he will not play PG), the focus will be a PG and a PF/C. I really can't see Lewis or Justin Smith. Both wing players and it will be hard for them to commit to a school that goes 6 deep with JCL and Goodwin on board. Unless it is a top ranked wing who does not care about competition, but that is not the profile of Lewis/Smith.

I can see the staff making a hard push for Scruggs, selling him the PG position, but someone like Trent Frazier is a more likely scenario. And that would be fine, Tilmon/Goodwin take off the pressure needing top ranked recruits to have a really good class.

Scruggs and Goodwin along with a 5th year big would be perfect end to the class

Yes, although it is a hard sell for a good 5th year big. You have Tilmon at C and Black/Finke at 4, not much PT for a good 5th year big who will most likely be looking for a one year opportunity to highlight his talents as a starter.

Best scenario IMO is a 4-yr player, not top ranked (we are not after any), but decent, with 4 years ahead of him and the ability to get some PT and back up Tilmon in his first year.

How does JG compare to Sergio? All the descriptions I've seen here sound identical yet I have not heard this obvious parallel once.

May be a hard sell but a 5th year big who can block shots and grab rebounds for 12 to 15 minutes would be great... Then it opens up another scholarship for 2018.
That being said you don't pass up eastern, or Lewis etc

Goodwin has the same toughness, but is more skilled. Sergio was great in HS but had Griff (and Frankie) with him and was able to concentrate more on leadership with less pressure to carry the team every procession. Goodwin has had less support in his career.

Goodwin reminds me of Marcus Smart in HS, although Marcus was a little further advanced IMO.

It's been mentioned quite a bit today. Also been compared to Quinn Buckner.

Goodwin is a better player than Sergio, IMO. Better range on his jump shot, more athletic.

I know. Sacrilege. :). Sergio had intangibles and was a good defender but never averaged more than 9 a game at Illinois. Goodwin has a higher upside, IMO.

3 scholarships left. Would love for them to go to Goodwin, Scruggs, Frazier/John

I like the Quinn Buckner comparison but you probably have to be of a certain age to like that comp.
