I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that, then. I think Ball is looking out for no one but himself and likely will end up hurting his kids' brands in the long run if he keeps it up. He reminds me a little bit of Joe Jackson.

I'd say Joe Jackson's kid's brand was pretty successful for at least a few decades.

seems to me our class is going to go one of 2 way

AYO, Finke, Pearson +1 other then THT

or

THT, Conditt, Sow + 1 other then Ayo or pearson

what one would you rather have ?

myself id take the bottom 3

If we get either one of Ayo / THT I would consider the class a big win.

Give me AYO, the kid just flat out scores. Always has! He will be Mr Basketball this year. No chance THT starts next year. AYO would push TJL for his starting spot from day one.

AYO might start but it wouldn't be TJL spot he took, no one is going to take TJL spot you can bank on that one

I can agree with that! I should of said he will be fighting for a starting spot from day 1.

No idea of the competition level and don't know what he did in other games or if he's played other games this weekend yet. But Jamall I think was supposed to be watching him this weekend, so after this he might get an offer and we can seriously consider him in our fantasy scenarios of who will be in this class.

To absolutely no one's surprise, I would take the 2nd group. But I'm still not convinced we're getting Ayo or THT at this point.

I'll take the second group all day, every day - a lot more quality in the 2/3 guys than Ayo +1 and a downward trending TF

My boy! West Aurora kid who started the spring with Meanstreets, stole the ball and scored the winning basket in one of their first games of the season. Then left the circuit to win his 2nd state high jump title at 7 feet. Word in the stands all last winter was he has an Illini T&F schollie but looks like he's still going for a basketball ship. Tulsa, Bradley and Loyola were schools he visited - not sure about offers. Kid can (obviously) jump through the roof, is a high level passer, is faster than fast and averaged 18 pts a game last year for a 20-8 WA team. Probably not B1G level but we need another Aurora kid on the team. (Well, I think we do. :))

Although limited to 2 games, Hoopers 2018 6'2 high flying lefty G Camron Donatlan made a huge impression on coaches. His recruitment is UP!

I would take at this point either AYO or THT (still think the true PG would be better), also Griffin, Conditt, + 1 (sow). I think Pearson comes if Ayo decides to go so otherwise neither will be here imo.

Most likely: Ayo, Conditt, Griffin & ?

I'd love to put Nolley and/or Sow on this list, but, as we saw with DJ Stewart, landing kids who live far away is an uphill slog. Need to see more interest. Also, am well aware that Griffin doesn't have an offer...yet.

Would love to see this. Obviously THT and Ignas would be ideals but aren't looking likely right now. Pearson could be the 4th as well if that mean's getting Ayo. Castelton would be a great get as well.

EJ plays hard, undersized 4 but dude has game. Was not to impressed with Hellems but just one game. Would be happy with him Fink or THT. Okoro looks raw but the talent is their, nice upside.

EJ is only 16, if he grows another inch or two that'd be gravy. He'll be just fine playing(and defending) the 4 at the next level with his length & strength down low. That jump shot looks pretty, too. Undersized or not, he'll be a mismatch.

I would take any two of Nate Hinton, Jericole Hellems, or Zion Griffin over Ayo or THT. However, I still think we get Ayo. The other positions are a role of the dice. My best guess (today): Conditt and Finke. If we offer Griffin, he slips in over Finke. First player to commit: Conditt. Why--BU is going hard after a big man and Conditt makes the most sense in terms of location and potential. All things being equal, instate players have the advantage and probably feel more pressure to decide unless they are elite.

I said the other day that sometimes I just roll my eyes and let it go after reading some posts. There's a couple here today. (not exactly an eyeroll, but...)

Well all the votes have been counted.......and checked by a reputable third party. Our 2018 class should be (drumroll please)........Ayo, De Sousa, Ignas, and THT. Now staff, go make that happen and we should be good for a year.

#1,175
Even if we could only take Ayo and have to burn other remaining schollies out, I will take only Ayo rather than 4 some other guys. Wing is not the big concern now. I don't see anyone from this class except Ayo that can oust MS, KN or TJL from starting line-up in 2 years.

Ayo is good, but I don't see him replacing any those 3, anytime soon, maybe play along side, but not replace.
THT, and Ayo the staff needs to be on them, 24/7:thumb::illinois:
