It looks like we are in great shape to finish second for Castleton.

Kid is an absolute beast. Has Oregon, KU, and AZ offers. OA got a few tricks up his sleeve I guess.

Not sure I would call him a beast , but if some how we land him and Conditt, and any of the wing/guards we are in one it would be a great class in my book

I really do like Penn-Johnson. A very articulate, balanced young man. And, for a kid who has not played a single HS game, he is pretty mature on the court too.

Okay, you are hearing it here first. I feel a commitment coming this weekend! Moving up on the insider list. lol

It's reasonable to assume that Florida is making Castleton a conditional offer. They've had every opportunity to sign him but they haven't. That probably means he has to wait it out until the dust settles with their other higher priority recruits. In the meantime, if we are his second choice, the opportunity to commit here could vanish. The same could be true elsewhere. If his offer from FL is conditional, he's faced with a classic dilemma about the decision he makes. If he waits Florida out and doesn't get a spot, he'll still end up at a good school, but it may not be one of his top choices. My guess is BU will make it clear they are not holding a spot for him. If I were betting, my chips are now on Conditt as our first commitment.

My "insider" left me a few little tidbits about BPJ in my inbox on Facebook last night... Take it how you will but this is no "surprise" visit. Connections and a strong relationship are already in place and we are inn a lot better position with BPJ than people know at this time.... Sounds like we could be a dark horse in this recruitment! A class of Ayo and BPJ would be insane!!

Let's hope some more good info can come out of his visit! Go illini!! :shield:

The night king messaged me and TTFWLIW but when he talked to the 3 eyed raven he said he saw this coming and to expect the unexpected while knowing we all have a part to play still.

Sign 'em up!

Of course. He's not traveling across the country on his own dime just for grins.

Pretty simple.

Tried to explain this early by listing their priorities. Not sinking in with most.

I am very familiar with UF roster and needs, as I follow them closely as well.

It's not so much their eval, just roster issue. They are in good shape with Weaver (6'4" PG-combo), Emit Williams (6'8" PF..beast),Khavon Moore (6'8" SF) and still in the final group for Moses Brown.

They only have 3 scholarships. Williams, Weaver, and Moore are guys you don't turn down. They are in on 2 other top 100 PG as well and planned on taking a PG and a Combo.

Not much room for CC, so they set a visit late in the fall cycle and stall.

Put me in these camps on Castleton...I don't think he is gone just yet.

There's #4, when is Desousa OV ? Might as well get them all here.;)

If Maryland lands Moses Brown look for De Sousa to almost certainly sign elsewhere( they would have a lot of talent up front). Would be very interesting situation if that does occur.

I think a bigger concern is if he commits elsewhere, i.e. Illinois, then down the line Florida comes and says they would accept a commitment. Interesting situation for sure.

Slightly related question: Recently it seems like more kids are asking out of LOI's without a coach leaving a school, or really any other major issue. Obviously if a kid wants out, you almost have to let him. My question is what the heck is the point of them anymore other than basically closing recruitment to other schools while they are signed (which most of us think isn't always the case)?
