Why can't we have both! (cue cute clip). Just to be clear, I don't want THT more than Ayo.

Ask and ye shall receive!

current hoped for '19 class: Ayo, THT/Nolley, Conditt/Sow, ?

The GA big we just offered looks intriguing. I'm sure other kids will pop up. We do have a bit of luxury with the 4th ride: if we have to take Pearson, we can. If he doesn't develop, maybe his ride gets freed up at the tail end of 2020.

.@coreyevans_10 weighs in on the 2018 PGs, five-star Marvin Bagley, #UConn and #Mizzou in today's #TwitterTuesday. http://rvls.co/TwitterTues725

That brings us to Tre Jones, Darius Garland, Ayo Dosunmu, Devon Dotson and David Duke. Dosunmu and Dotson are likely to go through a few visits, keeping them on the market a bit longer.

Also says Miznoz prioritizing Okoro. Think a lot of schools will be doing that.

Heard from a guy I really trust last night, that the ILL are not completely out of it with THT. He does like other schools more, but is still weighing of the option of coming to ILL w/ or w/ out Ayo.

Now, I was under the assumption that we were out, but this guy is in the know.

He said it is not a done deal, but he thinks we should get a visit before he decides in the fall.

Georgia, Clemson among programs pursuing breakout star Ngumezi

One of the major breakout performers of the second July recruiting period in the Atlanta area was Amanze Ngumezi from 1 Family. The 6-foot-9, 225-pound power forward showed off his perimeter skills with his jump shot and handle, but he also dominated on the block and threw down some ridiculous dunks.

Quite a few schools took notice of his ability. Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech came in with scholarship offers this weekend. Clemson, South Florida, Wichita State, Florida Gulf Coast, UAB and UMass had offered prior to this weekend.

Top-50 Normal West center Francis Okoro plans to give the #Illini a close look. Talks visit plans & more. http://scout.com/college/illinois/Article/Top-50-2019-big-man-Francis-Okoro-intends-to-give-Illini-a-close-105430348

No surprise. Way too early to draw any conclusions, but we should be there until the end. At the same time, this is a recruitment that will take tons of time and effort. An early commitment would be a tremendous advantage.

If THT comes here I would defend his build, but now I stick to my initial evaluation that it is more "meh" than "wow" for high level basketball. It is ok to pass a Walmart Draymond Green especially given his issue with Ayo or Ayo's team.

THT is not a walmart anything, he will excel in college and will help whatever team he is on. Kid is the total package.

This. Especially, in a wide open, fast offense. Smaller guys can't guard him, most taller guys he'll get around. He's dynamite going to the hole. At this point, it's hard to see why people doubt him, but that's a dwindling group.

Sounds like a match to me.

Interesting that I go on other team's boards that are recruiting THT, I go on other Illinois boards, I talk to a couple guys I know who know people involved in basketball in Chicago and the only place I hear that THT wants to be 'the man' wherever he goes is on here. Anybody got any sources for that beyond 'word on the street'? I have no idea where he's going to end up but I'm pretty sure wherever he goes it won't be because he's asking to be the 'the man'.

I'm glad you wrote this. You seem levelheaded and rational with a slight obsession about the recruiting scene. And I mean obsession in a good way, especially for our purposes here.

I've often wondered what your thoughts were on the narratives formed through hearsay and taken by gospel by the crazies on this board to rationalize how things may or may or may not appear to going in on a particular prospect. Especially when most of the hard data comes from your "scouting" or links you have provided.

others have responded much like I would have to the more off the wall(mart) opinion here, but also, he has no issues with Ayo or Ayo's team. Ayo's team has an issue with him and can't let it go. Why the staff should shy away from him because Mike Irvin can't deal with being told 'no' is beyond me.

Not The Elevator (obviously), but the Irvins' vendetta with THT is a total joke and reflects very poorly on them and the Fire.

+1 Tremendous potential. Needs to work on defense, but what HS kid doesn't?

Kid in our backyard...haven't heard much about him until lately!

MIDWEST HIGH MAJORS NEED TO BE SURE TO SEE ZION GRIFFIN

After watching him play in the Hardwood Classic, Iowa State was quick to offer a scholarship to new-to-the-radar recruit Zion Griffin. I don't think they'll be the last Big 12 program to offer and I'm betting Big Ten programs get in on the action as well.

If I am a coach at a high major program in the Midwest, I'm making it a priority to get somebody on my staff out to Kansas this week to evaluate the high flying and tough lefty wing at the Sunflower Showdown.

Maybe Griffin's breakout performance at the Hardwood was the weekend of his life, but if it wasn't he's a guy that I would want to be very sure about before passing up on him. Consider this, when given the chance to play against Nike EYBL powers Howard Pulley and Boo Williams, Griffin went for 42 and 31 points. That type of production against high level grassroots competition is awfully tough to ignore and because of that Griffin deserves more looks.

Just that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Sometimes I find it interesting and may think of something differently, other times I just roll my eyes and let it go, once in a while I'm moved to respond.
Pretty much like most of us.
(haha, my dad and a few ex-gfs would've gotten a good chuckle out of the level-headed and rational statement though.:))

We need just one domino to fall to get things rolling. That domino is Ayo. He commits and others will follow suit. Look at what has happened at Indiana and Mississippi State as references. Also please remind yourselves that unfortunately we have been a losing program for a decade and BU only has so much to sell. We won't get major classes until we prove to be an exiting program. Until then, we all need to have confidence in the evaluations our staff makes for projected targets. Remember how Trey Burke, Aaron Kraft, Robbie Hummel, etc. we're all 3-stars? You get the right players for your system, and have competent coaching and you will have success. TRUST. THE. PROCESS!!!

Hummel was a 4*. If I remember right top 60ish his High School team mate Martin was also 4* as was Moore. They went to Purdue because IU was in turmoil.

Watched a 6 minute highlight video on this kid.. There's nothing in his offensive arsenal he can't do. He looks like the kid of kid Underwood would absolutely prioritize as a wing. Stud. Just didn't play for the right team/aau team for exposure.
