That is Mrs. Smith to you! My high school PE teacher right there ;) I would bet it is either an Illinois sweatshirt or and Edwardsville one. If it is, come on Yvonne, you can be wearing rival schools of Eville and Cville at the same time.

I don't get the Collinsville shirt, is that where she teaches?

It will be interesting of those who have been offered will no longer fit this system. Mainly Finke and Ayo for '18 is who I'm interested in.

Ayo was recruited and offered by OSU and BU already...Finke seems like a utility player to me, very smart cerebral player-don't see the hype however?

I'd be surprised if we brought in another guard or wing for the one of the remaining scholarship. We need big man badly, though most of our offers are to guards still. Obviously that changes if someone transfers and we have another ride open up.

I still think the Bruninga kid could work out....think about this. Finke, Black, Tilmon and Williams and Nichols all getting PT at the 4-5 positions. Really what we need with Underwood system is an athletic big who can learn system and offer relief minutes.

Bruninga fits the bill, wont need a lot of PT and could even redshirt if needed?

Would really like to see this kid as an ILLINI:chief:

Tweet posted!

I was a student back in the Flyin Illini days...that side by side pic gives me chills and hope for the future!

Thanks. I was scrolling through his twitter feed and found the picture eerily similar to KG from back in the day.

I don't have a twitter account, so someone who is more versed in all things twitter should tweet it.

He would be a big risk. Plays against bad competition. No other major schools have offered him. Boom or bust type. With limited scholarships, not sure we can take the chance.

I think "boom" is a bit of an overstatement...

He is a risk for sure. But if there's no other options on the table, I don't know that taking him and reshirting him is a bad idea. A 6'9 guy with a little bit of handling and shooting would be a nice fit offensively in theory. Maybe he could become a Jacob Parker type.

Again I'm saying this in a last option on the table type of way.

Wouldn't we rather have a season where we go only 7 deep, saving a scholarship, than get into a situation where we have someone who does not "fit" our program/ vision taking up a slot for the next 4 years?

He was very mediocre in AAU ball playing against better competition.

Pass. Hope he has a good career in the MVC.
