Basketball is going the same route as football. Gonna take a couple years to get all the pieces in place and see positive results.

Ah the good ole' ward kiss of death.
That said we could really use a few commits from the group of Jones/Hinson/Ramey and a solid big man transfer.
That happens, and things will be looking up. Without some more solid pieces coming in though, it's hard to see next year going too smoothly.

I don’t think he said much except give it some time which we have no choice in anyway. But sure, let’s run off anyone who has connections to the staff so we speculate without any need for actual information

I must be getting old. I know this is funny, but can't remember why.

Oh it’s just one of many many memes on this site about recruiting hysteria. If I recall correctly, we were supposed to get a massive commitment on a Wednesday or something. This is all nonsense.

I don't think that's necessarily true. a basketball team is so small that you only need to hit pay dirt in one recruiting class to turn the ship around in a hurry. This recruiting class is far from finished.

I'm not saying it's likely that we have a one year .iracle, but I wouldn't assume it's a 4 year job, either.

Right, and guys reach their prime earlier in their career in college basketball as opposed to college football.

Next year's rotation will be the guys who determine whether Underwood is Groce 2.0 or not. It won't be a fully baked cake, but it had better be rising.

Meh, if we get two of Jones, Hinson and Ramey, we're back in the mix and trending upward.

This. The Dominican JUCO PG is a VG plan B to Ramey. And add a good grad transfer big to the mix.

For all the narrative we weave on here about everything, it's funny how our two most successful post-Dee seasons (09 and 13) are basically impossible to explain.

We went through a 5-6 year stretch there where the better the roster looked, the worse we played.

Still think we are in trouble without an experienced big to take Black's place. Ebo can cover the 5 but unless Matic improves dramatically we are trusting freshman to defend and score. Believe Kane can cover the defense but it will be difficult to have 2 nonshooting bigs.

Matic will have a difficult time scoring from Slavenia.

They weren't really in a deeper funk than us. They only had 3 years of dreadful basketball under Kim Anderson. We've been in a funk for the better part of a decade.

How were the photos (that's plural because it has happened more than once) taken out of context? Missouri fans held up their signs incorrectly more than once at the Braggin' Rights game, creating a humorous new moniker for their school. I, for one, refuse to retire it and will continue calling them Miznoz until the day they become irrelevant.

Except, unlike Miznoz, we have actually beat within 5 points of the pinnacle and have had long stretches of borderline greatness in our program's history. Maybe people just forget that because of what Weber and Groce did to our program.

We were within less than that near the end of the game, weren't we? I remember us missing several threes to either tie it or take the lead.

We shot terribly that game and UNC shot over 50% from three and Sean Many couldn't miss. We outrebounded them, had more assists, less turnovers, but got into foul trouble (Augie) and they outshot us from the free throw line as well.

I was pretty young but I still remember that 09 team shocking everyone with how good we played that year. Man, Chester Frazier was probably one of the best defensive players period we've had in the last 25 years, he set the tone for that squad. Such a shame how he got injured before the tourney.

I really wonder if Bruce did better with lesser talented players because they were easier to coach to his exact style? Idk, his results at K State seem to back that up but who knows...

Head missed a three with 17 seconds left that would have tied it, we fouled, they hit 2 free throws and the game was over.

I wasn't in high school yet and I can still see in my mind's eye Luther's 3 from the wing to tie it hitting back rim. UGH way to ruin my morning lol

Sean May couldn't miss because he got every call... even ghost calls.
