Add Krutwig from Loyola to this list. Mutual interest both ways.
Have not heard, or seen that officially. Do you have sources? I can't imagine Loyola would be happy if he, or his camp, are publicly saying this.

I'd take him for sure, but imagine they'd like to have him back for a free year too

Have just heard that through the grapevine. Nothing official from a team source or anything like that.

Anyone know why Burnett left Texas Tech beyond personal reasons. According to Wikipedia, his mom started a Basketball Mom clothing line when he was about ten, and a reality show about “basketball moms of nba prodigies” when he was 14. That’s not to say she isn’t just a clever, entrepreneurial, and supportive mom... but it could also read as a Lavar Ball type headache. No judgement, just curiosity- any insights?

She's the mom to be named later in the Griifin trade.

Long story short he was recruited over. Not in the typical way, but after his signing they took a couple transfers at his position, Mac McClung in particular, that eat up minutes he thought he would get.

They'd be more upset if we were contacting him privately.

I recall a year ago when McClung was semi-rumored to be considering Illinois. He is an incredible talent!

Well I’m 99% sure they will get a transfer big if Kofi doesn’t come back.

That's a pretty high degree of confidence, if you're only referring to the likelihood of finding some indeterminate big. Any chance you have a particular big in mind?

I would take Loyola’s center also. He has great footwork and with Curbello getting him the ball could be a very nice combination
I watched his game vs. SIU and although he is good around the basket, a couple things I noticed were ......
1. Runs kinda funny, up on his tiptoes ....does he have any past legs probs?
2. Legs are very slender for such a heavy torso.....is he overweight for his height ? can he hold his own around the paint in the B1G ?

1 game does NOT paint a full picture, but I would want to see who else is out there, either recruits or transfer portal first....JMHO

His game should translate well to all levels of play (see final four run). He's a very efficient player, probably leads the nation in assists for centers, and is one of the most intelligent defenders in the nation leading the kenpom number 1 ranked defense. Hes obviously not as gifted athletically as Kofi and Mobley, but we take him 10 times out of 10.

@illini0440 Antigua still selling Chet that he's the next Anthony Davis?

Whatever happens, we're going to miss Kofi when he goes to the next level. He's been larger than life in every way.

...and statistically, he's on pace to break the all-time school record as a rebounder. Grateful we got to see him play for the Illini! Great memories of his thunder in the paint!
