Works for me, lol.

After seeing Curbelo, who wouldn't want to play with him?

If Kofi is back, a key transfer puts us squarely in prime natty contender territory.
I’ve lost track, but based on the last few pages we went from getting nobody to claiming Andre Drummond off waivers and Rajon Rondo at backup pg, right?

All due respect, I hate this take. While Trent and Damonte were not the two best players on the team, they were two key players in an eight man rotation that won the Big Ten and earned a one seed. We don’t need Trent or Damonte to get out of the way to make room for “upgrade” freshman. I doubt there are ten incoming freshmen in the country that could confidently be pegged as 2021 upgrades to these two. Ridiculous IMO.
I will be shocked if either Trent or Damonte plays for the Illini next year.

The only way that it will work with Giorgi, the other 4 have to be agressive race horses with in your face pressing defense forcing turnovers and always ready to run and attack on each possession. Other than that, forget about it.
Respectfully disagree. Giorgi needs help defending the lower block and the complimenting 4 needs to be a stretch on offense. So a stretch 4 on offense and a interior defender on defense, Giorgi dominated the lower block on offense without him we wouldn't have won the B1G championship against OSU.

The craziest I remember was the Livingston recruitment. Wearing an ILLINI shirt then picking Dook. It was on the other board when it happened. You would have thought the world was going to end. Oh well. You get some and lose some.

Curbelo is a huge selling point. Most definitely. Agree 100%

But probably just as importantly Kofi being back means no forward gets stuck playing in the paint out of necessity. Every forward out there knows who's going to be in the paint if he's back.

Reminds me of TJ Holyfield who was a silent to Illinois until Beard flipped him. The guy got to play "center" for Tech instead of stretch 4 at Illinois. Just a horrible decision IMO (but I'm biased haha).

Shades of LaPhonso Ellis.

I don't see NB committing here anymore. No inside detail but just from reading different opinions.
I do not want NB. I hate players playing a song and dance with coaches waiting for a better deal. If you aren’t sold on the Illini, dont keep stringing them along. I know its not the player but the greedy handlers who screw kids up.

Nothing wrong with players letting things play out and making the best decision for them. Think the team doesn’t do that with non-committable offers? It’s just like we regular joes evaluating job offers against a current job which many of us have done. All in the game.
