That's gotta sting for Mizzou.

Not sure where you are getting your info but Mizzou has known Knox was not coming there for over two weeks. I think they are done except for either taking Tilmon or Porter(the younger). I know we all root for our own teams but I would say their fandom feels like they woke up on Xmas morning with a tree surrounded by presents compared to where they were a month and a half ago.

Meyer is asking for suggestions for college picks that were as surprising as Knox to Kentucky. Interesting list although the only one that I remember going wtf? over was Kevon Looney. Always had the feeling he just got off the phone as he was walking through the gymnasium door heading to the announcement table on that one. No hint of UCLA for months and then he sits down and announces UCLA.

Hopefully they end up like the class that got bounced from the NIT. But hopefully never recover.

~50% of NBA players have degrees, and ~20% of those without are working to finish them. That leaves 30% who go pro and never get their degree. If the GSR was changed to account for this, the KY model would end in a hurry.

No it wouldn't. I'm guessing it isn't much different than all students tha enter college. Plus college is supposed to get you ready for a career so s degree isn't really necessary.

Already has been mentioned on here but that likely won't factor into the decision, assuming he signs in the fall.

Anywhere he goes there will likely be talented guards in the classes ahead of him. He's talented enough where that shouldn't matter too much. .
We've been offering the keys for years and that hasn't worked out for us, hopefully Underwood and Chin can convince Ayo this is the best place for him despite 3 point guards in the 2 years above him.

With this offense it doesn't really matter, the 1-3 and arguably 1-4 positions are interchangeable. The more ballhandlers the better.

Totally agree. I was just responding to the point that our success next year will be key in landing Ayo - if he signs in the fall (which is typical), he won't have the chance to really see the team we put on the court. BU will have to rely on selling what he's done in the past, not what he will necessarily be able to do in his first year at Illinois.

Of course, this doesn't hold true if he waits until the spring, which might benefit us depending on our success next year. Guess we'll wait and see.

With all these talented point guards this should be assist city... Surely some good big man would want to come here to receive the benefits of catching all those dishes for layups/dunks

Deron/Dee were both PG type players and they thrived together with Head. I think Frazier/$mith/Ayo could make it work .... Just feed each other all day

Seems like just yesterday we were screaming we can't land a PG... Now we have what 3/4??? Big men will come too

It would seem that way, but I think a result of Underwood's 7 second "philosophy" is a lot of quick shots, resulting in fewer assists than one might expect. For instance, Okie State was #6 nationally in scoring last season but only #96 in assists. We're loaded up on point guards, but I don't know that will make much of a difference considering how the offense is designed to operate.

We're getting some PGD that can play SG too.
