Thanks Mike. I was wondering when they would move Liddell up. He's insanely efficient and doesn't need the ball in his hands like most kids in AAU ball. I'm glad we've been on him early, because it's only a matter of time before we have more competition for his services.

He was moved up because for some reason Wiseman hasn't suited up this weekend. Don't know if it's due to injury, changing teams or other plans, but this reminds me of when the Fire moved Ayo up halfway through the EYBL season last summer. Both kids were obviously ready from the start. I watched EJ in one of the April weekend 16U games and he was a man among boys in that game. Doesn't surprise me he'd have a game like this with the upper class.
But you're right -- be a ton of college guys wanting to know all about EJ now.

EYBL had something like 71 of the top 100 players last year. Looks like they're going for the whole 100 this year.

Meanstreets tips off against Cal Supreme Elite with Bol Bol and Sharif O'Neal in ten minutes. Should be interesting. Last night, MS looked like Bazley's team already. See if Finke has a better game today. Bol Bol has been a monster the 3 times I've seen him. Played Bagley even and dunked on Bags to win the game two weeks ago.

I don't typically like the HUDL videos, but this is actually really well done. The last play is a huge block of a Tilmon dunk attempt.

MS trying to drive on Bol, made a few layups but Bol, O'Neal and 6-10 Michael Wang have blocked or altered more than half of MS's shots. Bol very agile and quick for being 7-3. Finke has missed 3 3's, one pretty badly.

Finke tries to dunk on Bol, gets to the line and on the board. Castenada, Bazley and Freeman-Liberty have hit some 3's and MS only down 39-36.

Supreme Elite 46, Meanstreets 41 at the half.
Good games so far for Bol, Wang, Bazley and Freeman-Liberty. (And Castenada.) Finke with the FT's and some rebounds and at least one assist. Active but shot isn't there so far.

Cal Supreme puts the hammer down in 2nd half. CS 106, Meanstreets 65. Finke never seemed to get untracked although I started flipping to other games around the middle of the half.

yes, Bol was doing style dunks the last five minutes.

I can see how someone looking for direct UI recruiting info can dislike poring over game snippets. But the reality is there is very little news to be had. These updates do have some related info though. Plenty of Finke, THT, Ayo, etc... updates and they are all certainly Illini related.

Here is some of the things I'm getting out of these updates. Ayo, THT, Liddell, and Brazdiekis should be at the top of our list of attainable players. Finke seems to be struggling a bit and I'm wondering if that lessens him as a priority. Maybe he's being recruited as a solid role player/glue guy but definitely not as a centerpiece to a class. A solid second tier guy who has some possible upside as an upperclassman.
