Honestly, I'm starting to think that Clownzo's whole recruiting methodology is to try and get back at Illinois because we would not hire him.

Regarding Javon Pickett, how does one reclassify back a year? Go to high school for 5 years? , or 4 years and 1 year prep school. Does that act like a year of junior college, then 3 years of eligibility?

Year of prep school does not affect eligibility. An athlete's eligibility "clock" begins as soon as they begin a class either at a juco or a four year institution. This clock is the five to play four.

I am more curious how guys reclassify the other way, UP a year. How do they complete four years of high school requirements in three years?

I think states are different in what you have to do to be able to graduate, but I know I had enough classes to graduate after my JR year, except in the state you had to take government and we could not take it till or SR year. I know well over 3/4 of my class was the same way so cant be all that tough to do

Actually sounds impossible to do in the state where you attended high school. :)

not if you went to a school that let you take government as a JR

it was something like, 3 years of English 3 years math, 2 years science, 3 history, and then so many classes like shop, art, pe.

Stanford has landed the commitment of four star 2018 Milton Academy guard Cormac Ryan. Giant pull for the Cardinal

This was Northwestern's number one '18 target and his CB was 100% purple. Big hit for them. Look for them to really up their pursuit of THT and/or Finke.

The state of Illinois requires 4 years of English.

Most places now require a 4x4. 4 core classes per year for 4 years, then electives. Hard to graduate early these days because you can't take online classes, like many students would do for credit recovery (failed classes), because you haven't even had the prereqs yet.

I took classes during the summer and took classes every period and could have graduated early in 1982 versus 1983. That said, it was back when we had covered wagons, and made our own butter.

IMO, Pickett got in middle of JT circus , and for him, sitting a year, maybe this is best for him. Liddell you would think, saw all the hoopla of JT recruitment, and will steer clear of that mess. Mark Smith has extend a hand to him , hope fully EJ will take that as his path for guidance. Social media is the villain in all this, anyone that believes different , should just take an objective look into what happens in 95% of time. These young people are connected with text , twitter or FB as a way of life, and unfortunately ,it`s not gonna change.:shield:

Mark Smith is putting the full court press on. He wants EJ to be an Illini. Big pull to ILL with Smith on the roster.

Not to worried about him following JT, EJ is a smart kid, and once he sees how JT does at Mizzery under CM coaching he will find out real quick where he wants to be.:shield:

After watching those highlights....why did anyone on this board suggest that George is not a high major player? He has an incredible skill set for a man of his height, and could be a contributor after a year under Fletch. After a couple of years playing with B10 bodies, the sky is the limit. He can dribble, shoot, block shots, and run. What more would you want from a big in a transition heavy system?

The potential is definitely there, but right now he is a tweener with little athleticism. He is too slow to defend guards and too small to defend the post.

Well the kid himself already said he needs to get bigger and stronger so he can bag down low. I also do not think we are going to have guys on the team who cant move , so we will be playing a lot more help D

Not sure what it is but I'm not sold on him, the comment one post made that saw him made me step back. Saw a video where his coach had to pull him back, so that makes double take. His growth made me think he might have leg concerns later. We shall see, long time till we or he commits. :illinois:

I think if he is going to be an Illini it wont be long till he commits, It will be interesting to see who we finish up with this year, so we have a better idea on what holes we still have to fill the most

He has all the tools that fit that pinch post spot in BU's offense. Clearly needs to gain weight but has a soft finish and has great handles for 6"11. Would be ok with him, Finke,Black and Ebo taking minutes at the 5 in 2018.

I'd check to see if they had previously re-classed down before. Seems to me re-classing has become a full time strategy - reclass down to get older, reclass back up if the right opportunity comes along.

Ayo Dosunmu
MR. LUNCH PALE
He didn't start off the weekend on a high note but as things wore on, Ayo Dosunmu rose to the top. You can automatically toss up 20 points on the scoreboard out of the top-30 recruit as his change of pace dribble and crafty handles enable for him to get to the lid anytime he might want to. He has shades of De'Aaron Fox within the fabric of his game and by continuing to develop his jump shot, Dosunmu has the chance to become one of the hardest defensive assignments in the 2018 class.
Recruiting: Heading to Illinois and DePaul this month for team camps, each program remains in the mix, along with others including Butler, Northwestern, and newfound interest by way of Kentucky.

Haven't seen him in game, but the video didn't highlight athleticism. I find it hard to project how a big will develop, especially in Underwood's system, which I've only begun to acquaint myself with. His length is pretty darn good though, and that works on both ends of the floor. Would love to be a fly on the wall for their player evaluations. Just have to wait to see who we get and how they play.

Best guess is that he is waiting on full release from UIC. Have others say he is going with us, but I have seen nothing , anywhere to confirm, and I been watching it close. That said , he gets released , he should be :illinois:.

+1. Should get full release by the end of the week.

Conditt has some shades of DJ Wilson in his game. Definitely has to hit the weights and buffet table though.

Given recent events, I guess Kaleb Wesson (Ohio State) just might now be available. He's not long and athletic, but he looks like a huge presence in the middle.

I'm just saying they have similar physical attributes and style of play. Hell, they even look alike. Wilson also had a late growth spurt and wasn't a top 100 guy coming out of high school.

DJ Wilson is about 100x more athletic.
