Conditt looks like he can be a player down the road. Much will depend on his attitude and willingness to develop. Although not an uber athlete (jumping, quickness, strength) does appear above average for agility and mobility for 6-11 player. Seems willing to pass and can shoot the outside, which are bonuses for BU offense. If he can gives us some of the things that Michigan got from their PF it would be a good player, but not the final defensive/rebounding solution. Will need a couple more big bodies.

But once again, recruiting will need to be fixed by the NCAA. Too many 11th hour changes and recruiting. Why get a verbal/written commitment from a developing center when he develops further 15 other programs jump in and don't quit until kid enrolls at the school.

Hopefully Chin helps us with Chicago and the other coaches can keep kids committed. In the end we have 4 very good guards coming in next year, good luck Damonte healing.

The NCAA is never going to "fix" recruiting. To them, recruiting means cheapest possible labor cost, and maximum possible revenue. Beyond that, meh.

Im not calling kids traitors.. don't go there. But for me if im an illinoisan to go to a rival school like indiana, misery... is a kin to treason. I just dont get it. but Imnot 6'7 and talented either

Frankly kids from the metro east area basically grow up on the fringe line and fans of a lot of missouri teams.

Not like everybody from Chicago goes to Illinois.

Shame there can't be more prospects from a city that identifies more with a university.. Wish Peoria was poppin' again.

This is spot on. The STL media is all Mizzou and to a smaller extent SLU. In the metro east Illini coverage is pretty poor. These kids don't grow up following the Illini. For example, Mark Smith got his love of the Illini from his younger years before he moved to Edwardsville.

So glad we landed Mark Smith, he is going to be a fixture at PG for a couple of years. Would of been terrible to play against him as a Spartan. Always thought that Wisconsin would pursue heavily as he fits their mold at PG IMHO.

In the end college has become a very heavy guard game. We need 3 multi-skilled/multi-tooled guards (dribble, shooting, passing, defense, etc...) we are heading in that direction with players like Smith, Frazier, TJL, Damonte, Kipper(he is a wing), Alstork. Hopefully landing Ayo and and couple others next year.

Back when Pickett committed to Illinois, we speculated it was because Tilmon and others would follow him. He winds up following Tilmon instead.

If George Conditt and Greg-E are what we are looking for as bigs I am ok with that,.They both look to be kids who could benefit from a year of growing and filling out before getting thrown to the wolves. but right now we just can't afford to do that.

As of right now I would be surprised if George wasn't our first 2018 commit

Wow.....Conditt handles the ball really well. Still looks pretty raw, but I love the defensive presence and his ability to handle the ball and create his shot. If BU favors those athletic Hakim Warrick-type 5s, then he seems like he'd be a great fit.

Dunno.

I am guessing this move is for that 2019 kid called EJ to follow Pickett.

Pickett as pied piper has not worked super well so far.

He seems like a good kid from what I've seen. I have no hard feelings toward him for his decommitment--who knows, he may have been encouraged out the door by the staff if they didn't think he was a good fit.

Hope things go well for him.

However, in the East SL area sweepstakes, I think Illinois still came out on top by taking Mark Smith. Tilmon is probably going to be a good player. Pickett is a project. Smith is a blue blood talent, as evidenced by the schools after him.

Wow, he really moves well with the ball for a big guy. I have to think Antigua is making Anthony Davis comparisons to Conditt :)

Fletch has some work to do but looks like Whisky type center with athletic ability.

After watching those highlights....why did anyone on this board suggest that George is not a high major player? He has an incredible skill set for a man of his height, and could be a contributor after a year under Fletch. After a couple of years playing with B10 bodies, the sky is the limit. He can dribble, shoot, block shots, and run. What more would you want from a big in a transition heavy system?

Regarding Javon Pickett, how does one reclassify back a year? Go to high school for 5 years? , or 4 years and 1 year prep school. Does that act like a year of junior college, then 3 years of eligibility?

I think Conditt is somewhat of a project. He seems, according to his highlight reel, to be fairly athletic. His shot release seems slow and when blocking he reaches which will be called fouls in college. Both of those can be fixed and I am happy with the offer. I like what I saw.
