To be fair, his rankings make him look like a low major prospect... Its not like he was highly touted by any means.

That riverside Brookfield tournament is a chance to see all of your illini recruits.. simeon & Morgan park gonna be there. Ayo & tht may play.. sometimes the big stars play sometimes they don't in events like this. Gonna be a good show though

This spring, Horton-Tucker’s confidence hit an all-time high. The 6-foot-6, 205-pound wing has plus length and deceptive explosiveness. He can beat defenders with sweeping drives to the rim and when he’s in traffic, he’ll rise up and embarrass people. Horton-Tucker has greatly improved as an outside shooter. Not only is he comfortable in the catch-and-shoot game, but he’ll knock down difficult, contested looks off the dribble. Illinois, Missouri, Northwestern, Iowa State, Texas A&M, DePaul, Arizona State, and others are currently pursuing. Expect the high major offers to flood in during the month of July.

That's what I am hearing. Expect another addition as well to round out the class of '17.

It's because of the NBA rule allowing players to get feedback from scouts. Most players in past years would have had to declare for the draft months earlier. This delay in players entering the draft delayed the decisions of a lot of college players this year.

I think recruiting has become more complex, generally. Transfers, graduate transfers, exploring the draft, and turnover in coaching has made it more of a scramble. For us, obviously, this is a strange year in particular.

Does anyone think the delay in hearing anything definitive about these rumored newcomers might be due to their meeting/clearing UI academic admissions requirements?

Greg Eboigbodin was said to have a partial release from UIC. Not sure what it took for full release. Maybe a phone call from chancellor

Maybe UIC wants a home game or two out of the Illini over the next five years.
