“I think he is the best player in Illinois,” Lathon said. “He told me he’s the best player in Illinois. I don’t think he will go to Illinois. I’m gonna hit him up after we get off the phone.”

I have seen him a few times, and I would not say that he is a very good shooter, but his shot has improved. Strength and aggressiveness are his two major attributes. He is the kind of player who would fit very week into BU's style of play IMO (i.e., aggressive basketball on offense and defense).

You're right. I was talking more about his shooting stroke that his % at this point. I think he was the potential to be a good shooter in college, but it isn't his best asset right now. His best asset is his playmaking ability for a wing.

Also WRT Lathon, it seems like he's a little salty that we didn't make him a priority. I've never put much stock in kids recruiting other kids though.

I am ok if THT goes to NW and Ayo/Finke/Conditt prove THT is not even the third best Illinois player against him:cool:

Am I sensing an HTT-THT rivalry?

Still have preference for THT over Finke. Shooter can and will go cold at times, THT is a scorer.

Timme appears he will even get better in time with his present skills of driving, blocking, rebounding, and scoring the 3 - good choice for BU and staff.

Doesn't look like an above the rim athlete at all but saw good foot speed on some of those plays where he got the rebound and took off. Decent footwork, finishes with both hands, willing to bang down low, looks like a decent shot. Be interested to see how good a defender and rebounder he actually is. Seems like a solid player all around though.

Is this a thing?

The thought of him or Leron leaving has to be entertained. They've done their time and can grad transfer after this year should they want. If the rebuild takes longer than anticipated or they don't like the way they're coached/used, they have a get out of jail free card should they choose to play it. A lot of ifs, but a real possibility.

Looks like THT is the key. Even more than Ayo - sadly. But, it is what it is.

Different complementary players, but want them both plus a big. THT may fill more of a need but Ayo is very, very good.

Noticed no dunks and nothing above the rim on the clip, as well unless I missed it, but apparently BU and staff have seen enough of Timme's play to believe he would fit into their system.

No clips of him finishing above the rim, but those can often times be deceiving. WOuld rather have a kid with good footwork, moves, comfort with the ball, and a good skillset than an athlete who is only seen catching and dunking. Would think with 2 more years of high school he will only fill out and improve his vertical. See some Ethan Happ in his game (and no not because he's white;) )

Offers from Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, TCU, Creighton, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and more before he even starts his junior year.

I am still on the side of Finke. He has very smart off the ball moves to get catch-and-shoot and cuts/dunks. Also can play with the ball and pass well (THT is also good in this aspect). We have a number players that can play with the ball but not Tim Finke type players after JCL transfer.

Another important factor is M.Finke is less likely to transfer if he can play with his brother.

I don't see how playing with his brother for one year makes is less likely for him to transfer unless you are talking about him transferring in the middle of his freshman year.
