Mustapha Heron to transfer from Auburn. Pretty good player.

https://247sports.com/Player/Mustapha-Heron-28720/high-school-63639

While I'd love to have him, don't see any reason he'd want to come here. I think the situations a little weird in the first place. Top 30 player has a great year, NBA obviously told he's not ready, so he transfers from a team he lead in scoring as a freshman? Playing time issues perhaps, but why not play two more years at Auburn, rather than become a sit one play one?

The cynic in me thinks someone in the NBA dislikes Pearl.

Being reported that his mom has health issues so he's moving closer to home (Northeast).

Just cruising around and found this article:

https://www.azdesertswarm.com/basketball/2018/5/21/17378504/arizona-basketball-recruiting-parker-braun-official-visit-date-wildcats-2018-targets-depth-chart

In the comments section, one person says, "As for this guy (meaning, Parker, presumably) he is likely not a top 100 or 200 caliber guy. Arizona 247 saying we passed on him and are no longer recruiting him. They are saying no visit."

Posted by Bear Down Az on May 21, 2018 | 6:09 PM

I tried to find the reference to which "Bear Down" was citing but could not. So take if for what it's worth which probably not much. But maybe someone more proficient at these things can find it? Perhaps it is in the premium content to which someone here subscribes?

Terrance Shannon, Jr with outstanding Nike EYBL weekend. Whitney and Miller are his running mates.

4 games!!
24pts/10 rbs
20 pts/9 rbs
18 pts/9 rbs
7 pts/2 rbs

Probably played himself into top 100 since it was on a national stage of evaluators.

I have not watched Terrence Shannon in his last few games, but I had watched him before. He is fairly athletic, plays hard, and hustles. The one area that I have some concerns is skills level. Adam Miller and Kahlil Whitney stand out more on skills, therefore higher rated. Shannon seems like a good complementary player (at this point, obviously he can improve) who can add value, more than a primary piece of the puzzle. (e.g., EJ Liddell, Adam Miller, Kahlil Whitney, etc.)

Oh, great, a guy who has clearly already topped out and started declining. In Game 5, what did he get, 2 points and 0 rebounds? PASS.

Edit: Dang it, TeamWilliams!

At this point, save scholarships for Mac Irvin guys. Make that the new “Peoria Pipeline”. Shannon and Whitney 2019. Miller 2020. Who knows who else. We have played our cards perfectly if we wanted to make this a pipeline.

Did he visit Nebraska ?

I would say no, think someone was trying be funny. If the Arizona blog info is accurate , no visit pending. Think we sort good ATM. Rather strange we have heard nothing. Parker doesn't seem to have Twitter account , no post's there I saw. Hope he is committing today. ;):illinois:

Not real excited about Braun, makes sense offer, and I hope I end up being wrong, just not expecting much.

Arizona gave it's 13th schollie to a walk-on for 2018, they seem to be out of scholarship for next year, might be the reason for visit being cancelled. Miller gave it May 21. Twitter post don't have link. Beardownwildcats.com is site not really active.;):illinois:

Braun may not be a 5 * but he would fit nicely, wanting to be here and a winner. All good.

Parker Braun has an Instagram account, but there are no pictures of him wearing Ilini gear.

Braun clearly is a long play. If he comes to Illinois (and I hope he does), anyone expecting him to have an impact this season is bound to be disappointed. With 16 months under Fletch and in the program, he may blossom. Has an interesting tool set. Hope he pans out.

I don't know why but I like our chances in this one. Perhaps because we are his last visit and it doesn't appear he has taken any others. If he did I give him props for covertness (is that a word?). This might be a case where one falls into our lap.

If he comes I won't expect much but I think he could be real nice to have as an upperclassman.

Even if Parker did visit Nebraska, I can't imagine him choosing them over us. Yes, I know, bias and they had a much more successful season, but we clearly have to have impressed him more than they have. BU seems very good at getting most of the pieces he wants.
