🤨 Hey now, it’s not the worst place in the world. (Says woman who is terrified she’s going to have to don a “Purdue mom” shirt in a few years.)

Would you accept "second-worst place in the world"? The entire state of Oklahoma is pretty bad, so I will concede that West Lafayette is not the absolute worst.

Rumors are that Francis Okoro has officially reclassified to 2018 class and will take official to Illinois. Nothing confirmed yet.

To echo this tweet, @pjstar reported these rumors. Awaiting confirmation, nothing is happening as of now. Okoro is still a junior and is apart of 2019 class. No change has been made, report is false right now. Illinois visit also hasn’t been made i’ve been told.

Not this kid again. :tsk:

Great to see Liddell on campus. That kid is a future NBA player. Okoro to Illinois smoke makes me smile. Temper expectations of him if you are want. I have seen him play and his fit for this program is perfect.

It is absolutely great that Liddell is visiting. That said, very, very doubtful that he's on the verge of committing. This visit is all about building rapport and strengthening the relationship.

Yes, he'd be a great fit on our team. Underwood's scheme has to be very appealing.

Aren't he and Randolph here as part of a school function, but plan to meet with the respective staffs?

I agree that it's highly unlikely Liddell commits anywhere before fall. Why would he? Even if Illinois is his leader he is going to get wooed by the blue bloods.

What is great, is that we are getting a little extra time with him due to his buddy coming for a visit. That can only be a positive thing. Even more so if he ends up committing to Lovie. Add in an Okoro commit and we are in about as good of shape as we could hope for at this point.

Anyone know if Missouri is recruiting Randolph?

Glad to see that you check this box of someone who lived in Texas at one point completely disregarding Oklahoma and any value it may have (which is none).

Two weeks ago I thought we had dropped the ball on 2019, although I was pleased how 2018 ended. All of the sudden our dream class of Okoro, Liddell, and K Whitney seems more plausible. Still don't think we get all 3, but I'm 50/50 about getting 2/3.

In fairness, I did an internship in Oklahoma long before I moved to Texas and so I knew it was a dump before any Texas influence. Bricktown is kind of cool, though.

This is true. However, it is only a matter of time before an F5 obliterates it.

I'd say it's closer to 50/50 Illinois gets one. Liddell is a pipe dream, and Whitney's recruitment is starting to blow up nationally. He'll be tough to bring back to the Midwest. But IL is in that recruitment firmly, so you never know. Contrary to popular opinion, IL likely doesn't lead for Whitney. I don't think ANYONE does.

If no one leads, then Illinois leads technically.

That would be fantastic!

Carsen Edwards and Payton Pritchard are damn good so I wouldn't even give us the edge in that area specifically.

Referring to advantages we had in okoro recruitment, Ayo being friends with him was a ACE in the hole. Not referring to his quality to anyone else , although he will be better than any guard PU has had in along time. Beach house bet on that.:illinois:

Guess in need to clarify my comments before hitting send, thought I was using the card reference well:huh::illinois:

Beginning to think some loyalists on the board have lost all optimistic views any glimmer of hope. Not saying it's in the bag , but I'm not forwarding any mail to Oregon or West layfette either.;):illinois:

So, likely to get one. I would hope that would be Okoro. I want to win now in a Veruca Salt-like way.

Smoke seems to be in our direction at the moment with Okoro and I would even probably take us against the field. But I don't put much stock in the fact that they have no other 2018 offers. Its May, these guys will hit campus in 3 months at the latest... who's left thats worth offering? Doesn't do you much good to burn a schollie on a project like Vesel at this point...

Tweet says journal star has Okoro reclassify to 2018 ,will visit Illinois by 5/16. PU rag Hammer and rails says he will visit next week. Can't find journal star info, anyone have it from a source?

I would jump for joy if Liddell came here, but him being an NBA prospect is another story. He’s gotta prove he can be a small ball 4 or become capable of playing the 3. According to measurements taken last summer, he’s 6’6” without shoes and only has a 6’10” wingspan. NBA teams are going to hold that against him unless those things have changed which they could have.

Exactly, for the 100th time people dont understand how hard it is to make the NBA. For example check out this tweet of players who weren't even invited to the combine.

Cold splash of reality for a bunch of underclassmen who hired agents already but weren't invited to the NBA Combine as of now: Ray Spalding, D.J. Hogg, Doral Moore, Lagerald Vick, Deng Adel Drew Eubanks, Terry Larrier, Robert Franks, Mustapha Heron, Kaiser Gates, LiAngelo Ball

Somewhat surprising for Doral Moore. Dudes that are his size, usually are given every chance to have a place in the NBA.
