Great to see another Plan A prospect pick the beloved. Been a long long road of mediocrity that finally feels like it is fading behind us.

Saw the evaluation of Andre on 247sports. I can't say I love the bolded line, but I trust the staff.

"Not a physically imposing player and average in most all physical markers. Well above average basketball IQ and feel for the game as a playmaking distributor. Tremendous vision and passing skills. Deft ballhandler who thrives on fakes and change of pace. Knows how to manipulate the play to get what he wants. Outside shooting is currently a liability. Not a game-changer defensively or on the boards."

I am quite pleased by THAT bolded.

Look at Kofi’s before and after, then imagine what this kid will look like this time next year. He’s going to be awesome.

And presumably he'll even arrive earlier than Kofi could make it, taking even greater advantage of Body by Fletch.
Oooh, yeah.

It has long been my thought that the best way to turn Chicago recruiting into our hands is to build this thing without a heavy Chicago dependence. If that happens I think the Chicago kids would be desperate to get in on the action. Make Chicago “need” Illinois vs the other way around.

So here is our friend Shannon on her story of the Curbelo commitment:

https://www.chicagotribune.com/spor...0191101-t5fwjdr7xba4zej2fzvhkqhml4-story.html

I haven't read all the posts here on this, but in her article, she states:

"Antigua played professionally in Puerto Rico with Curbelo’s father, Joel, a member of Puerto Rico’s 1996 Olympic team"

So, as our football-wisdom-in-chief has been known to say: "It's as simple as that"

Welcome to the O&B train Mr. Curbelo!!!! It is going to be fun watching you in BU's system!!

Who's going to tell Curbelo this is just an exhibition game?

I think you're right. That squashes my theory. Lol

It looks like the DIA's official post-game post on social media.

I'd say nothing to read into here other than he's following the team, the DIA, and is excited to watch our season. He's invested. That's exactly what we want

Would proving to Chicago that we dont have to rely on them for top of the line recruits actually help us recruit Chicago, kind of like a jilted lover show you dont need them makes them want you more. Or am i wrong in this thinking.

Chicago is such a mix of college fandoms that winning matters over everything.

Chicago is the dude that doesn't mess with a girl unless she's making her own money, has her hair and nails done, and dresses well. Illinois is looking busted, but we're about to get a makeover.
