Averaged two minutes/game. FT%=.38?
I have to think the 2 minutes a game is misleading very much if the 5.5 pts per game is any indication. However, he does provide length. If he can add some sort of weight, he could be a disruptor for 15 mpg...

Like the clips but not sure he’s a great fit with our needs. After Giorgi graduates only bigs currently on the roster are Hawkins, Lieb, Hamlin and Verdonk. Unfortunately can’t bank on Verdonk being healthy which leaves Hamlin as the only guy who could potentially body up typical physical BIGs. Think we really need a more physical, banger type if we can find one.

And to reply to my own comment, shades of Davis/Tisdale, who were talented but didn’t complement each other well physically.

Who cares! He us clearly a project. He is 7'2" and not goofy with high major offers. I just watched the draft n 2 guys in the lottery were not even ranked. There is a lot to be said for player development and trusting the men that make millions to do so. I recall Kendall Gill was the lowest rated or undervalued of all seven in his class.. Trust the pros!

I was thinking a shorter version of Tacko Fall. Kinda lean but he can run the floor with good hands for his size. He may not be a shooter but he will be a rim protector and a rebounder. Fletch can make him stronger.

Chet Holmgren is listed at 7’ 190 # and is ranked as the no. 2 recruit in 2021. Know he is skilled but have problem with his physical stature. Sharp is taller and heavier. Nor qualified to rate either but doesn’t make sense to me.

Chet holmgren has otherworldly skills and abilities for a guy of his size and build. He’s a unicorn, a rare exception to the principle that 7’ 200 lb can’t work. But even he will put on muscle and benefit significantly from it.

Don’t know about the FT%, but the cumulative stats/avg for minutes for JUCOs is routinely wrong. I don’t think they track minutes well if at all for games so the zeros make things wonky.

Saw some Tacko Fall as well. He is fluid, I don't see the project label on him. He can contribute immaculately IMHO

I don't see us offering a quality big man like this unless we feel like we are going to lose Mac....

It's funny you say that because I feel like people will complain if we miss out on Mac and don't have a contingency plan.

Better safe than sorry. I'm sure the staff is playing it safe.

Chet might actually be the fabled Kevin Durant type player.

I saw a couple of things that remind me of Lew Alcindor:

Height: 7'2
Jersey Number: 33

Is BU setting himself up for 10 NCAA titles over the next 12 years? Watch out for a 6'11 redhead next in the pipeline......

Maybe they see just enough in a 7’2” Juco prospect to take a flier on him? Apparently, Oregon and Arizona may have the same thought process.

I keep having flashbacks of our team before Kofi as people kept driving and making easy baskets...

Me too, but believe it might have been more due to the defense and the lack of size at the 4. Seemed to me that Giorgi was pretty good one on one but when opponent had two guys with size we got killed on the boards. Think even without big addition we are much better with Jermaine, BBV, Cole, and Lieb in addition to Giorgi than we were in 2018-19.

Read article that both KY and Louisville have shown at least some interest. He’s from Kentucky. Obviously hope Mac comes to Illinois, but good to have a backup plan. And as backup plans go he doesn’t seem like a bad one.
