247 sports has a commitment countdown for Kiir. They are saying in less than 13 minutes or 12:00 Central time.

Why would he be announcing at 1:00 ET? Seems pretty arbitrary if you are picking an east coast school. Noon, however, makes a lot of sense. Gives me hope. Hahaha.
Yes, it appears they have updated it 3 times now as the deadline has passed...they don't know.
2 pm EST sounds even more random. 1 o'clock. Right after lunch. Makes total sense.

Not very likely. He never visited there after June 1. Also, they already have a PF from the '17 class (Lance Thomas) who recently committed and signed.
It's pretty much between us, VCU, and LSU, with VCU presumably leading in this one.

As much as I would love to have Kiir. I hope if by some miracle he comits to UI we don't go back to the !!!! show of assuming Tilmon is 100% gone.

I understand our lack of recent success and what that means for recruiting, but it still really upsets me that we have trouble out-recruiting the likes of VCU and SLU. For a program that was once as high up in the upper echelons of college basketball as ours was, this just makes me sad.
With Kiir I think it was more about playing time right away. Illinois couldn't offer nearly as much as VCU I am sure. Kiir likely wouldn't start here until he was a junior if ever. I also haven't looked at VCU's roster so I could be wrong
