I remember being in the second row for victor's dismantling of tractor traylor's wolverines. That was fun.

I'll be very happy for Groce. I think he has done a good job for the cards that were handed to him when he took over. He has built a good roster of committed student athletes. His recruiting seems to be getting better as well.

I like that Groce has a process of doing things and isn't a self promoter. He isn't too proud to admit that he has erred and re-evaluate certain processes. As an alumnus, I like that he stood up for the university during some of the worst moments (Snider, Alexander,). Glad he is our Coach.

The hand wringing really shows how snake bitten we have been as a program. ALL signs point to Illinois and yet most are still worried. We have our Center!

Remember Big Cliff!

Five star Jeremiah Tilmon has a press conference today. I'm guessing it should end a week of hand wringing for Illinois fans.

Yes, but this time the NLI is in. Do you really think that our staff would let Tilmon have his moment right after he spurned us. They would have leaked that they didnt receive an intent letter by now to help soften the blow to the fans. They have told Channel 3 that they have him and that is why they are making the trip. They wouldnt want channel 3 to cover it if it went against us. We have our Center!

Can I ask a "dumb" question? If Tilmon signs, is he a one and done?
Not a dumb question!

The answer is probably not, because it's unusual for bigs to be one-and-dones. Even Jared Sullinger spent two seasons with tOSU, if my memory serves me correctly.

It's not so much the one and done or two years here but he will totally change the perception how other recruits view Illinois and more specifically John Groce's program. Don't get me wrong he is a huge piece on the court the next couple of year's but I think he has so much value as hey if 5 star Jeremiah Tilmon will go there then it must be a cool place to be.

I don't think Sullinger was ever considered a potential one & done in high school was he?

Tilmon will need at least 2 years to get ready for the NBA. Only way he goes one & done is if the draft is very weak on big men

Agreed, he should be here at least two years... maybe three if papa dels moves back to a location thats easily reachable by students.

I think he's gonna be a bit too raw after 2017 to make the leap--though I thought Leonard was extremely raw even after his soph year and he went pro...

It's possible but it'd be in his best interest to prepare academically as if he's returning for a second year. That all depends on who is in his ear really.

He was.

I have seen Tilmon many times, he is a good player, but he is not on the same level as Sullinger was in HS.
