He'll be glad to DM you his sources if you ask or question where he's getting it from. Take it with a grain of salt, he hasn't been correct yet regarding Tilmon's holdout.

I know, Werner accused him of tweeting out premium info a few days ago and after a few no i didn't - yes you did - he tweeted Werner a pic from his phone that said 'you have received a private message from Roy Schmidt.' Roy wasn't exactly on top of the Goodwin situation so I have no reason to believe he is on Tilmon's.

He is absolutely one of the worst there is out there. He was going big time on the money train that half this board was going on. I take his stuff as pure comedy and that's about it. Nothing he really says is worth much

This is what I don't understand. Any info that is considered "premium" by one site may be entirely public for someone else. For example, if Werner/Piper get a story from a certain source and only releases it to his premium subscribers, and I get the same story from one of my own sources (if I had them) and released it publicly, am I guilty of releasing premium info?

If you take that one step further, how do people like Werner and Sturdy decide what stays premium for their respective sites? What happens if they get the same info and one keeps it premium and the other lets it be public? It seems like the only way they could keep that from happening is if they decide behind the scenes with each other what not to make public. Otherwise they could easily undermine each others' businesses.

I've always wondered about this.

In this case, if I remember, Piper/Werner redid the article as free to all right away. Their premium stuff usually becomes public within a few days. About the coaches being told by Wilkes, they had that about 3 or 4 days before Albers tweeted it out publicly.
That board was freaking out over Goodwin about 3 days before IL was. I'm not much of a football fan -- even when we're good -- so I don't know how much premium only info is on there. I mean, I see it but I don't care about it so I don't know if it stays premium for long or not. Werner every few months has to warn members about leaking premium stuff and I know who does it on here, but yeah, I guess it's a weird thing. To me it's worth it to know stuff for sure, but I almost never post on Scout and I never post premium stuff on here unless it's been leaked on twitter.
But I imagine it's a drag for Piper and Werner to work their sources and then see someone post it on twitter or another board. But then if they find out the person got it from another legit source, an even bigger drag.

Yeah, it seems like they'd at least have to have some kind of agreement with their competing premium sites. It's one thing to have your own members leak premium info. You can just rescind their membership for breaking terms of service. It's entirely different when it's the case of a competitor being able to leak info that you got first in order to undermine you. I would guess that there must be some gentlemen's agreement between all those groups that say whoever breaks a scoop first decides when it becomes public, at least among the recruiting premium sites. You obviously can't control for members of the public who have their own sources.

Place your bets... Anyone think there is a chance JFG closes tomorrow if in fact he is in ESL? Just seems like there is no way this is happening this signing period. Anyone optimistic?

I am forever optimistic.

I think they try and give people the benefit of the doubt. But Dariush in particular has posted premium breaking info from Scout on multiple occasions, so now they watch for him.

Probably dumb question: How does Groce get from recruiting trip to recruiting trip? Is he driving the whole time, that's a lot of driving. I seen Calipari flies everywhere but I also know were not that big of a fish to pay for that.

Kinda strange. Bowen and Eastern played all summer together on Meanstreets. Wonder if Verge will end up -- after juco or if he miraculously becomes eligible for next year -- wherever Eastern goes. They seemed to be great buddies all summer. Would hate to see a Purdue team with both of those guys on it. Big Verge fan and like Nojel's game too.
"Michigan State recruiting has been in on him for a while, but it seems like the staff may have cooled lately."
"It has been rumored that fellow Michigan State target Brian Bowen, a five-star small forward, and Eastern do not want to play together in college."
"From my standpoint, of following Michigan State basketball recruiting, it has seemed like Izzo and Co. have backed off of Eastern in the past month or so and instead have focused their attention on five-star forward Brian Bowen and five-star center Brandon McCoy. "

Like that article the main reason it isn't premium is because it's been scooped and I'm pretty sure they do their work to see if it's been posted elsewhere already also. They work hard and do great work and definitely that Darius's guy is a guy who will takes someone's scoop and post in heartbeat.

I like the sound of "family meeting." It puts the emphasis on the area where Groce clearly excels as a recruiter.

I feel a heck of a lot better about this now that there is a "family meeting" tonight. I think if we were out of it there wouldn't need to be a last minute family meeting. I would have to think this could be good news for us. Lets hope JFG goes down there tomorrow with some coffee and gets this thing done!! :thumb:
