Strange timing for his first tweet in a while, considering the cloud of mystery surrounding him

Could be trolling us. Might have gotten some vicious tweets from Illini fans the last week.
Or not. Who knows at this point?

I'm going out on a limb here, it is possible he simply wanted to share that picture.

That's what I assumed initially, but he knows the reaction those emojis will get from Illini fans. He used them when he committed and during his official visit.

Just seems odd to share something unrelated to the fact that today is the last day to sign until April. I hope you're right, but the tweet somehow makes me feel pessimistic.

Could be picture day for winter sports in ESL.

I know here at my high school picture day was yesterday/today so it very well could have been. My question though would be how did he get the picture so quickly if that was the case. I couldn't even get one for my team that fast and I'm a coach.

While we're disecting tweets, anybody know how long ago Jeremiah "liked" this, I feel like it was pretty recently.

Not to hijack here, but someone explain to me why Tilmon would sign.

There is no chance whatsoever that Illinois would not take him in the spring. Barring something that would prevent him from playing college basketball anywhere (eligibility, career-ending injury, etc) he has a spot at Illinois in hand under any conceivable or inconceivable set of circumstances. We aren't going to fill up on scholarships and there's no chance he's not the best player we can get.

But if he signs, he's locked in, and cannot entertain other offers without obtaining Illinois' permission, most importantly in the not-whatsoever-unlikely scenario that John Groce, the coach with whom he has a close relationship and wants to play for, is fired. The Tilmons aren't stupid. They know Groce is on the hot seat and they know that if he is fired Illinois will ABSOLUTELY make some attempt to play hardball with that LOI.

So what does he gain by signing? Absolutely nothing, is my read on it. I have never understood why elite prospects sign in the fall. They give the schools leverage they wouldn't otherwise have for no reason.

Tend to agree with this. He can wait it out and see guys flip and open up spots for him at other programs, meaning that he doesn't care too much about giving Groce a chance to breathe and continue recruiting '17 (i.e. we are his fallback option).

P(JT plays for Illinois | he signs today) = 0.9
P(JT plays for Illinois | he doesn't sign today) = 0.2 ??

Need it to happen today
