Coach was in to visit him on Monday. Gonzaga and Texas A&M are in today.

I get trying to get the last pitch in and everything, but what are these coaches possibly telling him that is new?

This is the part of recruiting I don’t understand. Either he knows exactly where he wants to go or all three schools are very much still in consideration, right??? If he has ruled out one of the schools this kid seems like a very mature young man and would let that coach know it is down to two. Or maybe not?

This is the biggest decision of his life thus far (I'm assuming). Obviously the schools haven't been ruled out if they are still visiting. But he could have a very clear favorite in his head and still want to hear the other school's pitch and keep developing the relationship.

The gap between a guy like Liddell and Payton is a lot less than you would think. I've seen him outplay some guys that were ranked a lot higher than him. Im not sure his ceiling is very high, but would be surprised if he wasn't a solid B10 player.

almost spit my coffee out on that one....gap is approximately 230 + ranking slots apart, now rankings aren't everything, but they are alot more accurate than this comment. No offense, but this is simply not applicable...now if you had said someone in the 100-200 range then yes agreed, but not Top 100 arguably top 50 player.

If we miss out on Timme and the rest of the bigs we are in on right now, would you rather see us sign a big that is a project in the spring, or wait it out on a 5th year big?

WIth Kane, GB, and Higgs all on the roster now, and assuming they are all back next year, I would rather see a 1-year flyer on a big ready to play right away, vs a project that doesn't impact the 19-20 season at all. The need for Timme and the rest of the offers we are in on now is that they can come in and provide good minutes right away to impact next season.

Honestly, I would want both. An athletic big with measurables that needs skill work, but lots of potential (Ebo, Kane type) and a 5th year that would be reliable to play some D, grab some boards and not hurt us on the offensive end. It would allow GB to play some positionless 4, and maybe Higgs too.

Or a juco like Gueye.

I think we will be able to answer these questions only after we’ve seen our current bigs play a few Big 10 games. Higgs looking like a Red Shirt, Kane a bigger project than most thought on the signing (obviously missing summer workouts hurt), and GB once assumed to be the biggest project now starting. A LOT to learn before accurate needs assessment. Thank God for Adonis’s speedy recovery!

I think it depends on our current 3 bigs performance this year. Higgs will likely redshirt (hopefully he is bought in and hangs around for the future). GB is going to play a significant role out of the gate and from all indications will at least make some kind of impact this year. SK is going to get minutes, but that is most likely because we have no one else. If our guards play to their talent level this year and Kipper plays to what we know his potential to be, we surprise some people; I think we have a strong pitch to one of these big time 5th year bigs that will be in the market to make a tourney run. It would be our only missing piece.
