Did anyone else hear T. Finke's dad on Monday night? The gist was Tim was hurt during July and is playing much better now. Vandy is one that reached during that time he made that a point, but Tim likely won't make a decision until spring.

I for one would like to see him on the team, but if we can get our top targets and a big obviously that's what we should do. Still think he will be a nice player.

Why wouldn't you wait, if your best options are Tulsa and Loyola.

Tim had a really bad summer, he has no option besides playing all winter to get back to where he was and then sign in the spring. And why would anyone want to go to Tulsa or Loyola if they could go anywhere else?

Ayo would be the highest ranked B1G recruit for 2018, with the exception of Langford possibly heading to IU. When was the last time we had the highest ranked B1G recruit??

Maryland also has Jalen Smith (No. 22) after a quick glance. Illinois will probably still be waiting for that.

This is a stunner. (Sorry it's not ILL or Ayo related but Wisky fans have to be fuming and bumming tonight. I mean this is worse than Tilmon was for us -- this guy is a lot better.)

Tyler Herro has announced his decommitment from Wisconsin. One of the most polished scorers in the 2018 class

-Wisky fans went in on this kid on Twitter (worse than Illini fans with Tilmon) Good to know we aren't the only team this stuff happens to.
- Ayo, Mark, Trent, Damonte,

I don’t know who deacsrule is over on the wake board, probably not a good idea to post over there. But helluva way to go out.

“When you haven't made a Final four since 1962................woof! All that talent, and nothing to show for it.”

As for Ayo, these last 36 hours might be the most unproductive of my professional life.

Not Benji, he never officially committed prior to his untimely death. Plus, after that, Marcus Liberty was in some circles considered #1, though not consensus.

Interesting read I found, an old news article quoting Benji as saying to Lowell Hamilton that he supposed he had to commit to Illinois after LH signed. The author believed he would've went to DePaul. The research you can do waiting on Ayo:D

Butch Jones, HFC at Tennessee is a friend of mine, we are from the same small town in Michigan. In his second year we went to the Alabama game, and part of his program transformation was to bring back the alumni greats, ones who made it to the NFL especially. Peyton Manning donated $ to build the "Peyton Manning Room", pictures of former greats placed all over the team facility. The main reason for this was to aid in recruiting, and show the rich history of UT football. Unfortunately, despite the tremendous recruiting classes he's
Reeled in, his seat is the hottest in CFB.

My point is simply that we have to remember, honor, and promote the great players and teams at U if I. Sure, most of today's kids don't know much about the Flyin Illini, but they should the second they hit campus for a visit.

I'm sure the new HOF in Assembly Hall is mandatory touring for recruits and hopefully for frosh starting their journey in the program. They did a really nice job with that HOF alcove - my favorite part of the whole Assembly Hall renovation.

Obviously he has something to prove. My main point was this was the first I had heard about his back injury.

Hindsight is going to be 20/20 for one of the fan bases. If wake gets him we'll feel like dinguses because he's been tweeting pretty much solely wake stuff since his visit. If we get Ayo then wake fans will say we shoulda saw this coming from the crystal balls, family's tweets and alleged help setting up the announcement. Sucks that one of the fan bases is being propped up for disappointment here. Still looking forward to tomorrow though
