If you can make the workout tomorrow please do! I was there last weekend for Ayo and it was great. But I did notice a lot of the people were from the football game. Need all that can come with no football game in town. A poor turnout could make for an awkward situation and break the visit. Be there and be loud.

Also:

Other players seeing AD committing could change their perspective of Illinois....maybe we will get a surprise steal.

IU is currently the 4th best program in their own state :D

Not saying they can't get back to Blueblood status soon, given their name and pedigree, but. Does blueblood / Storied Program status ever get revoked? Because if anyone has spent over a generation not living up to its own name, it's IU.

well to be honest making fun of them for being 4th right now makes little sense what are we 3rd 4th 5th ? And I will tell you this from living in Indiana all my life. even when they suck IU basketball is still the number one sport talked about and followed in the state

We are still #1 in the state....maybe tied with NU briefly

ISU is going to regress hard, they lost everyone and can barely field a team.

Bradley might be (should be) better than ISU this year.

Agree. Pretty critical to do this.

As avid fans, we can do our part by letting our presence be known 365 days a year. Sellouts at SFC this winter is the next step in the process!

Just saw the Kendrick Prince plea to get fans to attend the THT work-out. The associated picture (on our IL home page) shows THT, Nick Anderson and Deon.

Makes me think that Underwood absolutely has to have those two involved in this recruitment.....to keep the "25" tradition alive and rolling along. Two great ambassadors for the Simeon connection!

(Don't believe we're going to get Kendrick back here to assist.....)

Doesn't the staff have a connection to his family? Gotta imagine UI gets some play in his recruitment if true. At least a courtesy visit to give them a chance to sell him.

That was my thinking as well. Even more so, the 2019 class has limitless potential right now with the players that could potentially be coming on board. If 1 or 2 major chips fall early, I would dare to say it would put us in the conversation with players of Anthony's potential, or any player for thag matter. Big time players want to play with big time players, and with Ayo sitting in our back pocket, with the potential to play with him tear 2 and a upperclassmen Mark Smith...

... like I said, if we get 1 or 2 of those major chips from '19 to jump on board early, there's no telling how great that class could be,! (imo)

We are not getting Anthony. However, I'd guess Ayo really helps us with kahlil Whitney. That guy is just a stud. Big time athlete with size and skill.

Whitney would be amazing. I see he's categorized as a SF on 247 and other places so don't think he would overlap our stable of awesome guards too much - not that it matters much in BU's system. Since we are so thin on frontcourt type players I even think he'd get along just fine with THT on the roster should they both decide to come (and we should be so lucky!).

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that Jaylon's 4 year career at UofI probably epitomizes the coaching tenure of John Groce.

(Still respect them both since they're permanently a part of the O&B. Hope JFG goes 29-5 at Akron this season.)

Lol if they're still complaining after Ayo, I say let em holler.

I have not seen any of those comments after last night, have you? Look, AYO was a HUGE get, and the words he said after his announcement is monumentally important for the future recruiting and image of Illinois. He bought into the sell that others have tried before. Underwood's ability to sell the fast paced, score in 7 seconds coaching style was huge i.m.o. Ayo clearly sated how he wants to leave his legacy in his home state, do whatever it takes to bring talent here, restore the roar, etc.. Undoubtedly those words combined with his skills make him a 7* recruit.

Saying all this, we still need more commits to obtain position balance, class balance, etc... We fortunately have a couple guys who might be able to move up in a short time, so we better have guys to move in. Obviously we need size and athleticism, and I am sure the staff is hot on the trail for those types of players. Ayo will certainly help when the staff goes into any living room.

I am just not able to feel this class is a smashing success, or even be satisfied with Ayo alone. I get we have been nut punched by Chicago studs recently, however; we should expect more now without feeling "greedy", or unappreciative of how big of a get Ayo is. We have had great classes over the years with Chicago/Illinois kids and plenty of stars, so I for one believe we can do it for 2018 now that Ayo is in!

Come on staff, add a couple more pieces to this class and keep this train rolling. I don't care how many stars are after their names, get the guys you feel will be stars!

Hope he gets a great turnout at Ubben. Think it meant a lot to Ayo and would to THT as well.

THT's last official visit and he chose to make it to Illinois even after AYO committed so that should put to rest that he doesn't want to play with AYO.

With an 11 AM start time at Ubben, there is no excuse for the Orange Krush not to PACK the gym tomorrow with even more fans than AYO had. THAT would make a real statement to THT.

Orange Krush, its up to you!!! You want BIG TEN Championships and a Top Ten ranking, then getting THT to join AYO and the rest of this current roster would be a BIG STEP in that direction! Make it happen.

Ramey was a Louisville commit, but opened his recruitment back up basically the day that charges were brought against the assistant coach.

I really want Whitney. Anyone more in the know than I am want to handicap his recruitment?
